Angry Why won't you wear your helmet?!!!

So I just left Office Depot off of Hwy 290 and while walking to my SUV I saw a guy throwing on a wind breaker and basically getting ready to ride off on his pearl white cruiser.

I made a remark to him stating it was a wet day to be on two wheels, in which he replied back to me that it was his only form of transportation. I told him I know the feeling as my only form of transportation a few years back was a crotch-rocket.

He then took off his cap and showed me his scars on his head. He said he had a crotch-rocket and wrecked it and the scars on his head are from him not wearing a helmet... and that the wreck put him in a three month coma, which in the three months he was out, his wife died and the bike he is currently riding belong to her.

Talk about a messed up story... but then he put his cap in his rear pocket, fired up the cruiser, and hammered the throttle back on down the feder

Why the have you not learned a lesson from all that?!! And how come you still don't wear a got- helmet?!!

maybe after all that he feels guilty and has a death wish, or just does not have anything he cares to live for..... maybe he likes the wind in his hair more than he likes living with out it.

I like the old guys, "back in 60's we all ride bikes" and then they tell all the stores of their dead friends who died on motos.

I always ask if they were wearing a helmet.

the answer is "no, this was the 60's"

So then I ask if they had helmets in the 60's.

The answer is always "yes, but no one used them"

So, I say "thats prolly why all your friends got head injuries"

Then, they decide helmets would have not helped those riders anyway.

NATURAL SELECTION, let it happen

I don't let the safety gear selection of other get me down. This of all of the people who think owning a bike is too risky. They can see us geared up the same way we see the guys with no lid.

Can't control other people. I gear up every time. I feel good about that. Some people don't. They have a better chance at getting hurt. I don't feel sorry for them when they do.

To each is own. I happen to like the gear and prefer to wear it. Just my .02 cents. Yes I see people wit out gear all the time, does it bother me? No becUse if something happens they really don't have anyone to blame except them selves. And if u have been hurt and you still don't wear gear. Well then you are a prime example of insanity( doing the same thing expecting different results).
