Unhappy Got ticket today

Around 11:30 am, on my way home. I got a ticket for not stopping at the white line of a stop sign. One of the inside road of the neighborhood, I was supposed to stop at the stop sign and then make a right turn but unfortunately, I stopped after stop sign. Two cops were on there bikes were monitoring from the other side of the lane and I was blessed with a ticket. The cop was very nice but I was not able to convince him that it is a minor mistake and I did stop. Later on I thought about the incident and realize that there were leave on the road and I was reluctant to stop at the white line.
I have given a choice to apply for DSC. Never had ticket before. Any advice?

Take the safety course. You won't beat the ticket.

Ya I mean, its a pathetic ticket, but its a legitimate ticket.

You broke the law, take the course, move on with your life.

Real petty ticket, kind of surprised they did that. I would try to do a trackday instead of the regular safety course if it was me

Do this, if you hire an attorney you will lose money. The best thing to do is talk the prosecutor and work out your situation.

you're going to go to prison for that kinda ticket!!!

lawyer up or suck it up and take the defensive driving/riding course. I've heard some officers being hard up on writing tickets.

I think it sucks the ticket was given by another officer on two wheels. Thought we was cool like that lol.

If you decide to take a class then make sure it says you can on the paperwork. I have had plenty of riders with tickets in my classes and some found out after that the class didnt count in the city they had the ticket from.

When you see cops watching you try to do things by the book

I got one once for right turn onto 2 lane feeder from parking lot and moving into left lane too fast. They want you to pull into right lane then signal, then pull over. There was no traffic coming and cop was ahead of me. He pulled over and waited for me to pass then lit me up.

Illegal/unsafe lane change I think.

ah, , the basic truth is that we all commit some "by the book violation" almost everytime we ride... and if a cop wants to, he could follow you for 5 minutes and find some technical violation to write you for....

Got the same kind of ticket for lane splitting last year. Looks like unsafe lane is a popular ticket for bikers....

I've heard that before, would that count? What kind of proof would you present? Cause I took the advanced MSF for a ticket so I gave them that little certificate they give you upon completing it... And even for that they gave me a hard time as they were expecting me to give them a defensive DRIVING course receipt, when I was RIDING when I got the ticket. (That was my argument so they took the MSF eventually )

Last I checked Tejas had no requirement to turn into the nearest lane.. think it's worded nearest available lane.. I see morons turn across 3 lanes all the time.

I drove over the white lane on the right side of the road in AZ.. cop came out of the blue and gave me a ticket for "driving in the emergency lane"

that kinda of ticket (stop sign) is the same as a traffic light violation, it'll put a dent on your record and a higher premium on your insurance.. given you have had no tickets before you can fight it, ask for trial by jury or whatever they call it, they'll postpone the court date up to 4 times, then dismiss it..
consult with a traffic lawyer for better results and info

city of sugarland will bone you in court and the judge is an ***********&^%&^%. If your a safe driver I would just to the DSC unless you drive out of town alot. Then, I would save the DSC for an out of town offense and ask for deffered form the judge.

It's not even worth paying a laywer for Sugarland. The judge will **** just as much if not more.

They make COH look like a kids ride, almost fun.

thats normal, you pay for the ticket and ct courst, just doesn't go on your record if you pass the probation period.
