S4RS is not a Monster.....

So I went go check out an 1100 EVO at a local Ducati dealer in town. I was talking to the sales guy, and mentioned that I am interested in a new EVO or a 07-08 S4RS. He said the S4RS wasn't a Monster, and started to argue with me...wtf?? I asked him a few questions i already new the answers to, and dude seemed clueless. He said he's been selling Ducati's for a long time... I just walked out.

I guess I have been misinformed this entire time.... and the Ducati website must be wrong as well.....

Wtf?
The S4RS is the upgrade of the S4R, the original water cooled Monster.
Where was this at?

I rather not say, but they are on 45N.

Maybe it was just that one sales guy..... They're usually pretty knowledgeable and helpful. I purchased a CBR from those guys, that's why I went back.
There's only one other Ducati dealer in town, might have to go out of town for my next bike.

Oh well......

Unless things have REALLY changed I wouldn't go to the 'other' Ducati dealer in town.

True story above.

Good friend...and that's what he told us. It was pretty funny.

And of course my favorite discussion with a guy in the Rio Grande Valley. A Gixxersixxer rider following an evening group ride.

Nice Ducati.

Thanks.

You race the Busa yet?

Why would I? It's faster. I top out about 135 with current gearing.

No way man. I know these bikes, they got no redline esse.

Uh...yeah...it does have a redline.

No man, I know these bikes...they got no redlline esse.

Ok, thanks for filling me in on a bike I own.

Oh course, it made a good name for our TMGP team "No Redline Essay"

Maybe a new guy. I dunno.
Most of the guys I've talked to there were pretty straight up.

Yeah, had similar experience at a suzuki dealer when asking about gladius, sv650, and some other bike. The guy admitted to being new. I just hoped his knowledge was usually used on the cruiser side of the building.

Not sure which dealer you two have in mind, but I've had a pretty positive overall experience with Houston Superbikes.

They even have an S4RS in stock right now:
http://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2...lore-101888420

Not sure if thats a good price or not, but they've been fair in the past.

Good luck!

And for the record, I'm not trying to plug them as much as trying to help you out.
