Is this a bad thing?

NO!

Water in there for sure

i would say blown gasket or cracked block or head. But it could just be lots of condensation from heating and cooling.

That doesn't look like old oil, looks like there's water mixed with it. Unless you're pranking us with chocolate milk

2 good things to look at besides possible headgasket

1. Water pump (seen them leak to inside even though they are designed to leak to outside first so you can have a visual)

2. Oil cooler, seen them leak before too.... Both of those are DIY fixes and MUCH less costly then head gasket.

Verifying headgasket can typically be done through compression check (though not always) You can buy a cheap gauge for like $15 and do it yourself if you are able to change your own spark plugs (very simular)

OH and one more thing, DO NOT PUT ANY "HEADGASKET OR LEAK FIX" IN YOUR SYSTEM! That stuff is bad news, fix it the right way or park it till you can... the other stuff should only be used in an emergancy situation to hopefully get you home.

It was really submerged. The water was a tad deeper than I thought. It didn't work so good as a trawler

Would the bike still run before you drained the oil?
