HOV riders, stay in the HOV "lane" on the Gulf freeway says motocop

I had a friendly motocop explain that motos need to stay in the HOV side of the new toll booth things. At least for the exit to downtown coming in form the Gulf Freeway.

I choose the right because I need to get over 4 lanes real quick to turn right before going over the 59.

is this for I-10 as well? anybody?
I know during the weekends the I'10 displays Toll on both lanes, does that mean a bike can't go on the (what it is then) HOV lane in the weekends or off peak times?

Good info urbanXJ. I ride Gulf Freeway HOV everyday, but have not ridden through "All Other ..." lane.

I saw a few cops at the exit this morning. Did he pull you over?

Lucar, don't confuse HOV with Toll lanes. Bikes can always ride the HOV lanes

The lanes are HOV on peak times, some turn into toll lanes on off. Hard to understand knuckle draggers?!!?

I-10 is a special case. Check the Katy Managed Lanes website (don't know it of hand but Google it) because there are peak and off peak hours. Technically you can only ride the managed lanes IN the HOV side during peak traffic hours. Its something like 6am to 10am then again like at 3pm to maybe 7pm.

IMO they should let riders on the managed lanes at all times.

If it is free for 2+ in a car, then it's free for a bike. If it isn't, then it isn't.
This applies to the right lane, off peak, etc. etc.

I think so. I never saw his lights. All of a sudden a motorcycle cop with high viz yellow jacket is pulling ahead of me in my lane, looks over and starts giving me instruction.

Could have been just friendly advice so I don't get charged since I also have an EZ tag in my backpack.

I was expecting a "slow down" lecture.

That sign is just a sample to show that bikes are allowed in HOV lanes
