Red face Road Trip (3/30 - 1/1)

Hey guys. Looking to network a little bit. I want to get a group together to ride to San Antonio the weekend of 3/30 - 4/1. I planned on going out of town but the plans fell through so i wanted to try to plan this instead since i have off of work. I've never done this before so any advice would be much appreciated and anyone who would be interested in going please let me know.

It would be 2 nights in San Antonio so we'd need a place to stay but that's details that i would need to figure out. Not really sure what the "norm" is. Hotel, Motel, Friends, etc. Not sure. Id like to see and eat on the boardwalk, maybe some other things. Like i said, i'd need to get together firm plans but this is just to see who might be interested.

Any and all are welcome. If you have ideas please let me know. Thanks

Corey

FYI
There is a Biker rally that weekend in Bandera TX "Thunder in the Hill Country"
Thats just a bit west of San Antonio.
Mostly a crusier event though.

Yeah man, and they have tons of good restaurants that are located all along it. Pretty nice. Only been twice but really would like to go again.

OH! I know all about the riverwalk... Didn't think it'd be called a boardwalk lol, although now that I think of it they are pretty similar.

I'm definitely down for this, but highly doubt I'll have a motorcycle for it... Sadness

HAHA...put her on the back and call it a day!

Whats the norm for getting a place to stay? Hotel?

And yes, it technically is a RIVERWALK but a Boardwalk is almost the same...either way, its really nice to walk along.

I think having a truck/trailer is a good idea if you plan on doing twisty roads or what not...pushing your skills a lil bit. YOu never know..any unforeseen accidents might show up. That, and if your bike might malfunction for any reason.

I rode to Austin this past wknd, an hour of the ride was at night..where squirrels, turtles, deers, armadillos coulda popped out of nowhere, pushed myself a bit, did plenty of curves and learned body position a lil bit (something I RARELY do since I only ride highways to and from work)...and guess what???!!! The last 1.5 miles back to where we were staying, my bike messed up. Rode alllll day 180+ miles through several small towns up around Austin nothing happened, no accidents no nothing till the very end. Thank goodness. My fuel relay went out; fuel wasnt getting pumped through......
Good thing a friend volunteered to ride his bike home and my bike got strapped to the trailer. Very grateful. Very.

So all in all, I lost out on a half day of riding since my bike messed up.
