Supa Dave's wreck at TWS (Texas World Speedway) 3/19/12

So went out to TWS (Texas World Speedway) Sunday night to camp and had a great time shootin the with the guys. Had a pop up camper and we cooked pork chops and potatoes. Was delish and also had a bed to sleep on. Was a great start to the td.

. Was running slow the first few sessions running 2.16s then Decided to amp it up a little. Ran a 2.09 then a 2.07 and the next lap as I was coming out of turn 2 I drifted back to the left to set up for t3 and ended up going off the track. Was trying to brake as much as possible with rear brake but was carrying to much corner speed. Ended up dumping it in the grass and landed face first and on my right arm. It was that or hit a pile of tires.

I layed there for a few min and ended up walking (limping)off with a little help.
Once the adrenalin wore off I felt like a truck ran me over.

Ended up ripping off my face shield but my lid held up good for the most part. I have a nice purple mark on my forehead that looks like someone took a 2x4 to it. Right arm is black n blue as well. Also a few bumps on the back of my head, and I have a sprained right ankle. Hip hurts like .

The fiancÚ ended up making me go to er to get checked out. No broke bones and my head is fine.

Would like to send a HUGE thanks to lbjasonc for helping me all day being my pit boss and putting on/off my Warner's. Then after I crashed he put up everything back up including my bike that is pretty busted up. Ur getting a nice steak dinner when I get better.

Cannot remember the 2 guys names that came to help Jason pit my bike in. They were first timers to the track and offered to lend a hand. Thank you gents very much. I will def buy u guys a couple beers next time we meet.

Also thanks to the medics that came. Very nice caring people, and all the people that stopped to check on me.

All in all it was my fault. I think the heavy winds might have played a little factor.

Sorry for the rambling, pain meds are great!

Crashing sucks!

We all fall down sooner or later. Glad you are ok. The track is the best place for this to happen. Medics near by and people to help.

Hope you heal up quickly,

Glad you made it out ok bud. The wind was real shitty. Found myself on the minitrack almost once after T3 and still in lean to get to wheelie hill.
Bike can fixed though, harder to fix you...

Thanks again for the hospitality Sunday night. We'll have to do that again when you're back up and running.
Jason is good people for sure.

PS- I still think that camper is the ....!

Glad you're ok. Sprains suck. I ended up with sprained ankle, hip, wrist & torn rotator cuff after my get off at TWS (Texas World Speedway) Horshoe. 7months later, I'm still feeling it. Careful with that hip though. You definitely want to know exactly what going on with it as leaving in uncorrected could result in bad concequenses.

My hip is what hurts the most. Think I will get it looked at.

Definitely do so. My wife is an OTR & insisted. After the orthopedic surgeon talked to me, I was glad she did. I still feel the pain, but at least I know it's nothing that's going to end up with me needing a replacement. Soft tissue damage just takes a long time to heal. Good luck doing so. Stay positive.
