The all knowing has spoken, we all now know how to behave during a track day.

It seems that way...

Now no one is safe from Racer X, not even at the track.

Soon, he'll move on to CMRA commenting and eventually make it to the Big time... I see motoGP crash comments coming soon

Fortunately I'm not one of the ones included in that comment, yet (not perfect like you).

When I go out to the track, my goal is to work on the line, corner entry, braking and body position (I have horrible body position at times). Learn what my bike does if I upset it and how to handle it.

Really can't say it, but I know my main focus is not "being fast" I know that eventually comes when you work on the basics.

good for you!

crashing will lessen the chance of you learning/practicing those skills.

I'd say there is truth in that, but we both know that is such a gray area too.

Well... I had an off on my first TD. I can't really call it a crash, cus the only thing that was damaged was the LH frame slider - and my slightly bruised ego. When I rode it back to sit out the rest of the session, the guys didn't believe I had an off. I went on to ride the rest of the day.

Crashing is inevitable on the track. Improving my riding skills will only come if I challenge myself, which carry a certain amount of risk. The key is to manage that risk and not be reckless.

Besides, going to the track allows me to push the limits of my ability in a controlled environment, so that if - and when - I do spill it, there isn't an F-350 coming right up to mow me over.

That said, I'd say the most important thing is for the rider to go home to you loved ones the same way you left. Bike I could care less. That's why I got me a track .

did we not get two threads like this one locked yesterday and the third one got someone banned?
for me trackdays are about enjoying myself. Several things have to happen for that to happen...not go down (well that is not true, I have gone done twice, on the mini, minor low sides no damage to me or the bike and I still enjoyed that day)..learn something... share the day with friends... be insulted at least twice...

There are 2 important things I do on track days that I believe help me.
1. Have the morning of or at least rub one out.
2. If you even think you have to take a , go, don't hold it in.
