LET'S PICK THE LUCKY NOOB FOR THEIR FREE TRACK DAY!

Here they are, read their intro and let's pic our winner.

I haven't done all the research on thier involvement, but I know that MH has great detectives that can help me.

Pick who you think should get it, and tell us why.

What do you want to get out of it. everything. safety, turning smoothly, have confidence at corners, better judgements on roads, handling the bike better, better balancing...and most importantly - being a better rider at high speeds.

Why I'm interested in track: I rode hardcore on the street, got 8k miles on the r6 in the course of 5 months that it was running while I had it. I know first hand the dangers of treating the street like a track. This time around I want to keep it strictly on the track because I know I can't trust myself to do speed limit on the street. I figure if I'm gonna ride it hard and fast I might as well be as safe as possible and maybe ill make it to a year with this one.

What I expect to get out of track days: at the very least, a good shot of adrenaline while not having to worry about running into cagers, cops, or the other unknowns that come up when riding street. Ideally, ill have a chance to take my riding to the next level hopefully with help from people that know what they're doing.

I'm prepared to pay for for everything myself as that was the plan for me anyway so I guess this is more of a request for guidance when I actually get the bike and am ready to try the track as I've never been. Thanks in advance for any help/feedback I do receive.

Why Im interested: Id like to get a better feel for the bike, and while I enjoy riding the twistys, I dont find myself pushing faster like I probably would on the track.

What I expect to get out of it: Better feel for the bike, better understanding of body position and how it relates to handling of the bike, etc.

Ive been riding awhile but have never done a track day. While Id rather not do a track day on my Busa, at the moment its what I have (sold my 600). My issue is more in that I have no defined schedule, so its tough for me to plan on when to do a track day. Next step for me is to get a suit (Im a big guy, anybody at the northside meets knows that).

If I can figure out a time to go, and there are other new guys that just dont have a way to get their bikes there, I have a truck and trailer and would be more then willing to tow. , even if im not riding, id be willing to trailer some bikes down and just corner work or something.

Why are you interested in track. Even after 2.5 years, I still feel like a complete newb on the street. I can head to the forest and take corners and feel great, but then I'll do a u-turn or something here in the city and be scared to lean the bike over. It's weird. I want to gain confidence and skill on my bike. And, its always nice to make new friends along the way.

Why are you interested in track: In the past year I've gotten quite well acquainted with my bike through commuting everyday and a good handful of weekend rides up to yankees, fayetteville, and the forest. I've become significantly more confident in my riding, but I've reached a point where I feel that I need to have some proper hands-on training (outside of MSF) with body position, braking, lines, etc. These are all things that I think can translate into a proper reaction in the event of an emergency on the street.

What do you want to get out of it: I sort of alluded to this in my previous statements, but I want to become more competent in my riding. Although as I said I've become more confident in my riding I'm not totally sure if that's justified. I hope that with a track day I can learn the proper technique so that I know what habits I should be enforcing as I ride rather than reinforcing bad habits.

Not sure if this is still going to happen, but I think its a good idea nonetheless.

Why are you interested in track. Would love to ride the bike like it was designed to....fast.. without looking out for cops, cagers, telephone poles, trees, and a million more things.. Like masturbating in your room with the fear of someone walking in....you know what i mean..

What do you want to get out of it. ZEN

Why are you interested in track. - So I can have better control of the bike.
What do you want to get out of it. - Safety, Control and keep up in SMR. =0
The new person that wins, must be available to do the track day within the month or A.S.A.P. We are shooting for this to be a 1 noob a month thing.

Good luck to all of you!

I know it might be short notice, but work has got me real busy lately and it's hard for me to keep up like before. If there are volunteers out there to help me with Track dates and when the drawings should be and all that Jazz, let me know.

The fund is growing!

+1 for CaffeineRacer. He has the right attitude going to the track. He wants to improve his ride and stop reinforcing bad habits. I have met him and he is good natured and I got a very positive vibe from him that will lead him to use those skills to help others. That is definitely a huge plus for his corner.

Also.... His SV and my SV are Twinkies(Same color and year model)... except mine... has its bikini on so its sexier than his naked one... Everyone knows leaving a little to the imagination makes all the difference.

Since most of the TD orgs have good deals for first time track riders, I think this time around I want to vote for someone that hasn't done a trackday, but deserves to and CAN'T pay for it...

Will be doing more research.

Like me As much as I would love to get a free track day (who wouldnt?) I wouldnt feel right knowing there are noobs that want to and just cant afford it.

As far as making a judgement call out of that list, I look for people who dont have a lot of riding experience simply because they may not have the skills that those who have been riding longer have. That said, im split between Caffeine and Ngawhat. Both seem like they want to get on that track and learn.
