I concur! And let me take it for a spin while you're at it. The Tuono is one of my favorite looking bikes, but for some reason I've never seriously looked at buying one

I would think riding around in 6th on and R6 would leave you way down on acceleration if you needed to get out of the way. Of course I'm looking from the standpoint of being in traffic, not cruising back roads or in light traffic.

Thanks for ALL the great comments. Now for an update on a few things I missed. As for "why would I want to do this for a 20 min. commute" cause it's a 40 min. commute that MOST importantly costs me $20 a day in my truck that I can't get rid of. As for the wife on back, I want it to be fun enough for her to enjoy it, but uncomfortable enough that she either wants her own bike or "wants" me to get a cruiser for pleasure in addition to the "commuter" bike... . Now.... I'm not a 9-5'r... I'm a shift worker..... Sooooo 75% of the time I would travel 5:30A and 6:30P. The other 25% would be 5:30P and 6:30A. Now I'm hearing low 40's on a 600.... I have "read" closer to 50.... Not true???? How about the 1k??? More specifically... 954RR??? Thanks for the help & keep it up.... BTW... Not really feeling it for the "naked" bikes.... Maybe it is the mid-life crisis thing.... I have wanted a SS my WHOLE life.... )

Yea, that's exactly what I meant.

I don't know, I guess if it's a rider against 4,000 lbs vehicles, they might want the best handling, best braking, best accelerating, and the easiest bike to ride the lane line between two cars.

I'm in shape and I know how to keep proper posture so I'm comfortable. What bike is fun to ride in rush hour? A HD that's cooking your thighs? Oh, and I own a HD and a CBR.

No disrespect intended here as I'm the new kid in town but I don't think I questioned the sport bike issue.... It was more of the 600 or 1000. ALL of the threads I searched said DO NOT GET A 1000..... Now I feel like most of those were directed to "most" new SS owners...18-25 year olds. Not someone like me who's 40 and WANTS to live a looooong time!!!! And has a pretty good idea how to do it..... Maybe by passing on the sport bike my whole life... JK!!!
