Doesn't matter if you want/remember to or not. You need to do it. It is a safety issue.

Please take the 5 seconds it takes to unplug your light.

Isn't it also to keep little chunks of plastic off the track in case something happens?

The only Mogee issue I had was that I left with a knot of riders before sundown to go eat. I think. Was so tired by that point, we could have pulled over to admire graffitied port-o-potties. I dunno. Left the restaurant tiiiiiiiired, home was a fair clip away. Anyway...didn't get far before I realized my headlights weren't working. Clearly remember pulling over to the side of the road and thinking hates me. Dejected, I rode back and (Princess I think?) said, "oh yeah, they're just unplugged" and fixed it.

The tape is there to keep the plastic and glass involved with lights from shattering all over the track.

It is I believe dangerous to not have your brake lights disabled at a trackday. That should be checked at inspection.

If you tape the front lights and leave them on the heat generated from the bulbs will melt the glue on the tape and make the removal a huge pita or worse dye the plastic on your Headlamps.

I use a 3M plastic adhesive that was applied and stays on the bike. I used to ride to track days. I could show up, pull my fuse and be "trackready" within 5 minutes.

Anyway hope that "clears" this up.

TWS (Texas World Speedway) is hard on the left side of your tires...so many left hand turns. Other than that, about the same as other tracks. Fun fast track!

I thought disabling the light fuse was to keep other riders from being distracted by your brake lights.
Please explain further other safety issue by keeping the fuse on.

I use painter's tape under my duct tape so this wont happen.

On the 3 day countdown now!

Yesterday, I bought my first pair of boots, so I'm finally in possession of all the necessary gear. The X-men leather suit is not quite as obnoxious as I suspected it would be two seconds after hitting the "Purchase" button. The only part that really bugs me is the very noticeable reflective X at the waist. Suspect I'll take a permanent black marker to it soon. Been walking around the house stretching and contorting as much as possible in the new jacket and making some progress.

most leathers are much more comrfortable on the bike in riding position than they are walking around, and wearing them around getting some stretching in is a great idea...

seriously, is Mala Ok? has anyone heard anything? I heard that there were no major issues and no red flags that day, so I was expecting to hear how much fun she had.

Alive and fine! Been busting booty trying to catch up with everything. The last month of any semester gets hectic.

Here's my TWS (Texas World Speedway) trackday writeup: http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...61#post3222961

Fair warning: I didn't tone it down or make any attempt to make it more palatable to the masses. I dunno...hopefully some folks will enjoy it. I'm sure a goodly number will get a headache from the eyerolling. Meh. Can't please everyone, so I wrote it the way I wanted.

never try to please...at least not everyone...
glad you made the effort and sorry you do not feel it is for you... but it is supposed to be fun and if it is not fun, no sense in doing it...
