I call BS, the whole force has been sitting at an underpass violating civil rights or protecting donut shops; they don't investigate crimes.

Tell us if you or the other witnesses were able to positively id the suspect!!!!

she doesnt get away scott free if someone knows her true address and inflicts damage to render the car unusable...sad thing is, you'd prolly get in more trouble doing that than the who ran.

yeah I don't get this. So we have laws requiring you to have insurance and a certain level of insurance at that and people like this pull like that and just walk away. Thats a bunch of BS. Put them in jail where they belong, if they feel like the don't need to follow the laws, then well they don't deserve to live in an environment where they feel that is a choice.

I believe the new 7-digit ones are LLN-LNNN where L=Letter, N=Number.
That should narrow it down just a bit. I don't know for a fact that the above pattern is correct, but it appears to be the same pattern on my girlfriends newer model car.

Can anyone with a newer model LP chime in if their pattern follows the above?

Edit: just went back and read that you've already found a resolution to this.

UPDATE!

So 4 years later ... I get a call from HPD. They want to know what my losses were in this (hit & run) accident. Vehicle was totaled. I had to pay the $250 deducible out of pocket and my uninsured motorist insurance covered the rest.

The driver was recently charged with credit card fraud (3rd one in 10 years). They went ahead and charged her with Failure to Stop for this accident. She plead out for the latter with time served and paid restitution.

I'm going to the Harris County Clerk's office on Friday to pick up my restitution check! Moral to the story: Always file police report and keep your paperwork!

I'm going to Red Lobster.
