first track day! which bike do i take?

So i'm doing my first track day at TWS (Texas World Speedway) on monday, the 19th, and i'm debating on what bike I should take. I have had my '05 zx10r for over 2 yrs, and I feel like I know her so well, but I just had the suspension done at Motorcycles Unlimited (thx Motorcycles Unlimited!!) and now she's a total different animal! (in a good way of course) My other option is an '05 zx6r 636 that I just picked up on saturday. She's a great bike and handles nearly effortlessly compared to my 10, but having only ridden abt 30 miles on her, i'm not too comfortable oh her yet like I am on the 10. Which bike do y'all think I should take?

i prefer 600's cause they are easy to throw around and very forgiving (in the corners with the throttle) but you say you are comfortable with you 1k...so its whatever you think you are less likely to push yourself too hard.

At TWS (Texas World Speedway) you're good to go with either bike. I'd try to get the suspension on the 636 set up first. You might also want to consider which tires are in the best condition for the track too

Track provides a good opportunity to learn the new bike in a controlled environment, but kinda like Bevo said, I'd make sure that thing is in tip top shape before cracking triple digits.

I say take the 636 if it's in good condition and get to know her a little better. If you haven't gone through the bike, and aren't really sure, the zx10 would be fine out at TWS (Texas World Speedway) too as long as you have good tires. TWS (Texas World Speedway) will cook the rear on that litre bike.

I would say take both too, but it didn't sound like that was an option.

if you do not have time to get the smaller bike set up correctly for you, then take the big one, it is all ready to go...
but if the little one can be set up correctly for you take it...but that is just another opinion...

Yea, and tow a lawnmower behind it so you can cut the grass when you go off the track

I was looking to get an SV650, but the more Thayleal keeps pimping them, the less I want own one. I mean I can see myself getting one, then Thayleal just humping my leg at a stoplight. I don't want that kind of attention from him.

I was adding value for the track by reducing their maintenance costs by mowing their grass for them

Take which ever one:
a) in the worst shape appearance wise or
b) you are least attached to in case of a crash or
c) both

I am least attached to the 636. They are both in excellent condition and both have good tires on them. I AM more comfortable on the 10, so more than likely I will take that. I have been told by ALOT of people that I would have more fun on the 6, so that's why I have been debating...I'm gonna set up the 6 either today or tomorrow and see how i like it after that. I'll be putting some miles on it this weekend to make my mind up...thanks all!
