Charity Rides

Does anybody have any charity rides coming up? I havn't heard of any recently and I didn't organize one but what are everybody's thoughts on a MH annual charity ride? Something simple but fun and maybe like a $10 donation to a charity of choice for Christmas. Let me know your thoughts - if you havn't done a charity ride it's a great way to give a little something to those who need it more than us!

a few of the mods discussed that a few nights ago. its something that if we want done right will take some planning and escorts. for the time being, i think joining a charity ride already being held is a good idea and representing MH respectively is best

How about a cash buy in, easy run from point A to point B where we donate the money earned to said chairty?

we could all pitch in a $20. and then ride to Noah's on the water and we could use the funds collected to have Charity, the waitress serve us cold frosty Shiner drafts.

I know a couple of cops who might be able to help with the escort BUT they might be restricted in what they are allowed to do? What do the Gods of MH think about trying to organize this as an official MH charity ride. Do we have there blessing?

GS500

Hi all,

First, let me introduce myself...I'm Denise, still a new rider, SW side, yes, have taken MSF. Bike GS500. I dont mean to jump in on your conversation but I ride with a group that sponsors a charity and thought I could be of help.

I ride with a group that just did a charity ride on Saturday. We had 132 bikes (mostly cruisers and maybe 3 sportbikes) and we all staged in Stafford and rode out to the Depelchin House in Richmond to hand out toys. We had 2 motorcycle cop escorts and 6 road guards workin alongside the police. I was told you could pretty much ask any motorcycle cop and they'll provide an escort for $100 each or so.

The costs were $15 per rider and $20 if you rode with a passenger. All the money collected goes towards buying items throughout the year for the kids at the Depelchin. You could just raise the money and give it to a charity but to actually buy things for a group and all ride out and deliver them would be that much more special. Kids love to see all the motorcycles....

Not sure if this helps or not but I've been on several of these rides and it's a lot of fun and very rewarding.

Take care all,

Denise

If it's blessed, let me know if I can help...I've organized plenty of charity events (I figure doing good deeds makes up for all the evil things i do)
