Another possibility... Have you did a valve check/adjustment? The the exhaust valves on the Kawis have the tendency to tighten over time. So it's a possibility that when you get higher in the revs the exhaust valves are not closing completely. Perhaps this would explain the occasional fireballs shooting out of your exhaust.

after that just start swapping parts with princess till the problem moves to his bike.

So I still don't have it 100% but it's riding well, interesting that when the weather is warmer, it doesn't really do it much, not as touchy and it lets me rev up higher than usual...

Toss that around for a bit.

I had a temperature sensor in the airbox of my GSXR go bad so whenever it was cold it would run like .....but i dont remember if ever effecting the top end of the rpm range...
