Not really a "just released report". The guy that wrote the story is the same one that shot it.

I would like to know what percent of motorcycle accidents involve a rider with less than 6 months of seat time.

I just wish there was a way to get to these young inexperienced riders before they kill themselves.

I hear ya. I think if your under 21 you should have to clock 500 hours of trail riding on a fuggin CR500 before you can get your m endorsement. A lot of beginner riders, mostly younger folk, dont respect what these machines can do. I spent my summers as a kid eating on dirtbikes and I honestly think thats the only reason I have survived riding sportbikes as long as I have. I know my capabilities and I know the capabilities of my bike and I dont dare exceed either of the two. to this day every time I go to ride I get a little nervous but thats what keeps you alive. Knowing that you are not fuggin immortal and you will most likely perish if you hit a car at 100+. If you don't take those kind of scenarios into consideration its just a matter of time before your the topic of the next RIP thread.

When i first saw the bike I really doubted that he hit a car doing anywhere near 100 M.P.H. I had a friend who hit a tree doing less than 50 and his bike was utterly destroyed - I mean forks were ripped completely free and the engine was smashed. (I know a tree is pretty much an immovable object but a car is also much stouter than a motorcycle.) This guy's bike looked bad, of course, but not nearly as bad as my friend's.

Then I saw the pic of the car...and the alleged speed seems more plausible.

When I got tagged, it looked...similar. Front end, was essentially gone, rider was thrown passed the vehicle. Granted he only traveled maybe 50', but he also knocked over two bikes/riders. I think he lasted maybe 30 seconds after the crash.
