It's unfortunate when anyone undeserving loses their lives, especially in an accident. I do agree he should have been wearing a helmet and it probably would've saved his life if he had been. With that being said I still don't think anyone should speak bad about them after they're gone.

at least it didn't say he was speeding or the wolves would have come out. you think this was bad, no helmet and 100 plus while running from the cops and end up dead... yeah, you should stay out of those threads

I would say those types have it coming. I just think in this case it was an unfortunate accident.

some consider riding w/o a lid, an accident waiting to happen. just as being s squid.

the accident coulda be had alot better outcome had he worn the lid vs strapping it to the back.

Although I probably would not have worded it quite in some many words, I am with RACERX on this one.

Just think, what if this guy had rolled off Niagara Falls in a unpadded wooden barrel? 'Think that's ridiculous? I lived in Buffalo, NY for many years and plenty of stupid people pulled stunts like that. The local media never bother to eulogize the stupid & dead every time that happened, nor ddi they herald the stupid & lucky ones that survive.

Some choices are just plain dumb but people make them anyway. I, too have no respect for those who keep making those same choices, knowing full well others have died doing it.

This sport/hobby of ours is inherently risky. We should never tire of reminding the uninitiated - and each other - to pay the potential hazards due respect.

RIP for the rider. It is unfortunate he did not evolve.

on a lighter note, if a douchebag eats it due to instant Karma, do you tell his family he is a douchebag?

This isn't about dissing the dead rider or his grieving family. It 's about reminding ourselves in no uncertain terms....

DON'T DO WHAT HE DID.

Sucks it went down like that...RIP

Yeah, he could have been more responsible by not speeding in traffic

Yeah he could have saved his own life by wearing a helmet

Nothing is gonna change the fact that the guy died from his own actions

Stupid on his part, yes

Sad, yes

Still, it's why you wear a helmet

The impulse to show respect to the dead has roots in superstition. Isn't it odd how once someone dies he suddenly gains "respect" from people who wouldn't have granted him the same while he was alive? What's so special about a de-sparked meatbag?
