Is that price from the current Dunlop Vendor in the region? I guess I was being raped because my price was way higher than that

I love the 016 rear on the SV, but unfortunately I couldn't find a front for this weekend so I ran a take off r10 instead. I freaking loved the setup, now I'm not sure next time if I will go 016's or just go r10's. I can only compare it to what I have recently tried which were the Q2's and I just really didn't care for them that much but they were pretty decent. Most recently I ran the Pilot Power 2ct's and I hated them, I just did not feel comfortable at all and had the back step out on me a few times while doing some backroad testing before the trackday. I had them pulled off this past weekend even though they definitely still have some decent life in them. I still haven't tried any of the Pirelli's on the track though.

And my thought on the stones may be 90% mental but I know what I'm getting next time because I liked them lol

I know that we have a long standing tribal battle going on around here between different types of tires.

Ignore all the noise because choosing a tire is a very personal decision, and you can't really be sure about anything until you have tried them all. Find out what makes you feel best. What works for Ty Howard might not work for you. But it might.

At the end of the day, tires are about your confidence on the track. The tire that makes you feel comfortable and confident in your machine is the right one. Could be a Dunlop, a Bridgestone, a Michelin, or a Pirelli. Only you can decide. Me? I'm still looking.

Ty Howard beats EVERYONE on ANY TIRE. Take Ty out of the equation and where is the next sprint expert on bridgestone dots to be found? I'm seriously interested in that answer. Not being a smart .

It's perplexing because if the tire is so good, cheap AND pays the highest contingency you'd think that most of the top experts would be on them trying to collect a little money.

Mid 43's on an R10 doesn't really sell the tire. That can be done on a $200 set of 003rs. Ask Alonzo.

Love you John.
The real answer here is, if your Dunlops are sooooo awesome why didn't anyone beat him. I mean if the tire is really the factor, and all other things being equal, you guys should have beat him or at least ran with him. Ah but that didn't happen did it? The same ol same ol happened. He won.

The inside scoop here is he never ran the R10's until the last round of practice at MSRH Sunday morning. Had never even turned a lap on them. We left the same tires on for the race (A Superstock). Heck we built his bike (suspension) Saturday night after the endurance. So he did 43's are you high? A simple glance at the cmra results said he did 1:35.3 on the R10's .5 seconds faster than anyone else and 1.1 seconds faster than you could muster on the Dunlops. After that race Ty switched to slicks and we continued to work on the bike setup he eventually ran a fast lap of 1:34.384.

You want to know why there aren't more experts on Bridgestone? Probably because of people unjustly talking them, even though they haven't ridden on them in years and when they did ride on them they were running crappy suspension and were a new rider making mistakes and learning. The truth is, I'm sure there will be people migrate over as the year goes on. They will see exactly how good the Bridgestones are.

Also, I noticed a lot of Dunlop guys going down out there Sunday, trying to catch Ty.........maybe you guys should have been on the slick front, I heard its a better tire

You know what?? I agree 100%, but the problem here is that a few VERY vocal riders only preach one thing. So many people only see one side of the coin. I can't be on the forums all day as I actually am busy working on motorcycles and selling tires.

The truth is, there isn't a performance difference in the tires. Heck IMHO, the suspension makes a bigger impact on lap times than the tire does.......and that's coming from a tire vendor?!?!?

Choose a tire you like and a vendor you like working with, and don't look back. The rest is really just unsolicited noise.

Wow.

The OP asked about specific Bridgestones. Either will be fine for his skill set (track days: 2)

You two are now arguing over R10's and NTEC's.

John.......go feed the cat and finish that bike that has been on the rack for the last 2 days

Brandt.......go practise and find those tenths to finally catch Ty. knows we would all like to see some dicing at the sharp end.

OP........go sign up for another track day. Try all the brands and decide for yourself. You will know when it is time to make a change. Report back in a couple of years with your findings

I agree with Tojo.....How about an oil thread.

Hey Blendzall has been around for a long time. I left it and paid the price. So, it's back to the best. BLENDZALL....... Never heard of it? Check it out.

It's fantastic stuff and it's not expensive.
