New to MH and new to riding

Hi all, I initially gained interest in bikes and MH due to moving in with Thayleal. He taught some basics on his silver SV around the neighborhood.

Looking to get my first bike soon and I'm open to pretty much anything. Ninja 250, Ninja 500, Ninja 650R, and SV650 are all being considered. I'm partial to bikes with as little fairing as possible.

Sadnews though: I was informed yesterday that I am being temporarily relocated to Lancaster California in less than two weeks. So I'll be taking the MSF there and finding a bike alone : (. That also means that I have to get a CA license for the CA Motorcycle endorsement...

Any hints/tips are greatly appreciated.

If there's one thing anybody knows about me, it's that I like Volvos. I own two of them. One daily driven and one project car with a huge turbo bolted onto it, which is currently being stored in SA.

Yeah, there's no reason to buy a bike here as I will have to do all of the paperwork in Cali. My plan is to "keep myself busy" with a bike hobby while I'm over there. Pics will come eventually! Response from people at work when I tell them what bikes I'm interested in "Aw, you don't really want one of those retarded crotch rockets do you? You should totally get a cruiser! Hey, buy my VROD for $13K or my old VTX1300 that leaks oil and doesn't run for $1900!"

Sigh
