Sturgis 2012

I'm going this year.

Who has been?
What should we do while we're there?
Anything to look out for?
How strict are the police; does EVERYTHING have to be legal?

I'm just curious as to what to expect. Surely it won't be anything like our little LSR. I'm excited to people watch, for sure!

Smile

Seems like most rallies , just last longer .
If you watch travel channel , they have a few episodes on the rally itself that is pretty good.
One of the guys in the criuser section parents went about a year ago.
Enjoy & be safe .

i've been there with nickelback. no ape hangers, no burn outs on public roads, no whoolies on public roads. purdy much got a lock down on jackassery on public roads. private property is fair game for the most part. fun times, plan WAYYYYY in advance if you want a hotel room. they are usually booked up in advance for years. some locals offer up their front yards for 5 a night to pitch a tent and park your bike. buffalo chip camp grounds would be the place I would stay. wild area there, lots of , beer and music.

We're renting a house in the city, and parking the trailer at the Chip.

Guess it's something you just do once in your life... haha

AH! We leave Wednesday!

I have all my bags packed and my paperwork in order. I made a new, heavily padded seat for my SV. And I've dropped about 15 lbs.

I'm READY!

There will be hundreds of pics to choose from when I'm riding. I'll try to keep a journal/thread going while we're 'sploring our way up there.

Plus, I'm too tan, and my hair is too long. You'll see soon enough.
