I love buells. They have the same motor as my bike, but with different heads and other goodies that give it about 20-30 more HP. I think the design of the bike is hot .

The one problem you will find in Houston is no one sells them anymore. Mancuso, Stubbs, and Republic have dropped them. They might have some used ones, but you wont find any new ones. I believe the reason for not selling them is that they have to service them too. Which they don't want to do anymore. A girl at republic has one and says she loves it but working on it is a . Just to change the exhuast pipes she said she had to take the motor off! (the motor hangs btw, so it's not too hard but !)

Everyone i know that has one says they love it.

I'd buy one if i was feeling a sport bike right now.

No doubt, the design and look of the bike are great... but if thats what would motivate someone to buy it and thats it... be sure to throw on those fuzzy pink slippers too, 'cause they are so cute and your bike could match your shoozies!

Swapping out the can is a 10 min job. If you want to swap the header then you can get to the bolts thru the rear fan that sits inside the frame. No need to "swing" the motor down. I dont see why you would want to change the header anyways. XB's are easy to work on. A lot easier than my RC. Dont expect to get great service from any dealerships. Woodlands is the best if need be.

When i was talking about the design, i was also speaking of the low center of gravity that is suppose to make the bike a cornering monster. Low end torgue and cornering really appeals to me.

And they do claim they handle like a dream. I cannot dispute this as I have never ridden one. And that torque is what they claim "eats" other sportbikes light to light. As I said before, I'm not saying this is BS, I just haven't seen it yet.

Get an older customized one. I liked their old frames birdcage frames better.

Ehhhh... he's right. A litre twin will romp on a 929 off the line. Though, once you hit up 3rd gear good by Buell...

Dude, a good rider on a 600 can smoke a 1000 off the line... just because you have more hp doesn't mean your faster. :icon_bigg

You can't judge the buell line up on what they use at msf. Those are the blasts and they are beat down single cylinder thumpers. Big difference from the twins..

I've ridden an older 1200 cyclone, and an xb12r. My friend had them, and all he'd ever say was, "I'll smoke you from stoplight to stoplight." I know that you don't buy a buell for it's acceleration - and this is a good thing. My 98 zx6e would walk him from the line, to the stoplight and around corners. Even when we changed bikes the kawi would smoke the buell, so rider advantage was not an issue. He was about how the buell compared to the inline four, and sold his buell for a new R6. My impression of the buell was that there was some torque up to the rev limiter, but the rev limiter kicked in before 5K. My truck revs higher than that. And when the limiter kicked in the party was over. Both his bikes felt dog slow, and were constantly in the shop. He also got raped when he sold them, they depreciate badly.

I don't like to speak of any motorcycle in negative terms but I struggled to find anything good to say about the Buells I've ridden. I actually liked the Blast the best because it wasn't a disappointment. You knew it was a 500 single, and that's the performance you got.

man, stand up and ride that metric cruiser and be happy as can be !. I think you shouldnt worry about what others think and ride what ya want, even if it is a fat girl, I dont care, as long as you ride.
I say stay with what ya got and enjoy it for what you bought it for, screw everybody else and ride whatever the it is you want.
