goddamnit, my wisdom teeth get taken out on tuesday

This is ****ing shitty, Frankly Im scared shitless over this. I dont know what to expect, it sounds very scary to be put to sleep, and then I wake up with pain??? Then how long is this going to be painfull, who was the dumb peice of who scheduled this near christmas!!!!???

It was bad enough my 21st bday party was completly , it wasnt even a party, half my family didint even show up, but now I gotta deal with this bullshit...****ing sucks.

Im just plain venting, because we dont have enough emo "my life suckzzzzz" people on here. The only good thing to come out of this week, is I just found out from my grandfather that he has decided to pay for my school. (that and he might still help buy a new car)

So I guess I dont really have much to complain about, but yes, Im scared of pain, and my bday party sucked. That is all.

its not that bad .. i had all 4 of mine pulled out at once the day before everyone evacuated for katrina..... it was not bad at all they gave me tis nice little coctail made me very happy then I woke up in bed .... how i got from dentist to the car and out of the car and stuff I have no clue.... mild pain that day and some the next... Just be sure to do what the dentist says as far as for cleaning and have whoever takes you to the dentist put a thick towel on your pillow because you will wake up drewling with some blood in there too. All in all not bad though

Yeah, it's not bad. I had all four taken out at one time also. Two of mine were impacted in bone so they had to drill a little out of my jaw bone. You can't eat solid foods for a few days, but lots of smoothies and icecream! :icon_bigg

The only downsides were the soreness (but really it's not that bad if you take some Tylenol) and the drool on your pillow in the AM...

Most likely you have been having substantial pain or you wouldn't be getting them out. You may well have been hurting nearly as bad as you will after the surgery. Like squeaky said "drugs". Like Brena said "do what they say" most likely gargle warm salt water a lot - it really helps, and "drugs". Don't plan anything the day after except "drugs", after that it'll get better quick - you're a lot better off getting it over with. It's been a long time since I had it done, but you'll be glad you did. :confused2 :laughing6

It's not full anesthesia. I was pretty much conscious for mine. I experienced very little pain. I wish I had mor teeth so I could go back for more drugs.
If you tell them that you're allergic to caffeine they might give you percocet, as vicodin has loads of caffeine in it.

I have no pain at all. My mouth feels fine, and its felt fine for 21 years.
Im being forced into this that it "needs to be done" by my mom, and dentist. The dentist wasnt even supportive. he was a cold hard emotionless , who just kept forcing me to sign some paper to allow him to do it, like a car salesman.

And eric, yea, lets party hardy

I've also had a root canal, which is always rumored to be really painful, and that didn't bother me at all.

it's better to do it sooner than later. forbid you get stranded on a deserted island and have to take them out yourself.

Or stranded at a table in my restaurant while waiting for your POS waiter who NEVER returns to the table!

I had all 4 of mine taken out last year....all I remember is sitting the oral surgeons chair and him give me something he said would make me go to sleep then I remember being awake and LAUGHING MY A$$ off and them calling my wife in to come take me to the car and me still laughing......I remember her asking them what I was laughing at and the nurses said "I must be telling myself jokes cause I'd been laughing since I woke up" I also remember sitting there laughing wondering "what the am I laughing at".....

Its really not too bad even after.....take your pain meds and remember to do what they tell you!

Is a dentist doing it or an oral surgeon. If its done by an oral surgeon they put you all the way out...

You'll be fine. Mine was painless and they were impacted also. The most pain I had was while the pain medication was wearing down and that only cuz I didn't pick some up on the way home. My girl dropped me off at home and then went back to go get some. The only thing was feeling holes in your mouth.

Get them taken out while you're still young. I hear it's much worse if you're older (pain-wise). Trust me, you don't want to experience what I did...my wisdom teeth got infected and I felt like I was dying. It was awful.

My surgery went well...I was out cold and just remember my mom telling me I looked like I got in a car wreck. After I slept off the anethesia, unpacked the gauze from my mouth, and rinsed everything out I was ready for a steak. Yep! Phooey on milkshakes, I want a steak.
