The TW is a better off-road tire than people give it credit for. It's listed as 80 street 20 off-road, but it's really better than that for off-road.

It's been about 10 years since I last rode at Skull Creek and since 1988 (Point Blank, anyone?) since I did this stuff more than once or twice a year. I've been giving a lot of thought to returning to my roots (pardon the pun) next year.

the tire did well considering, i did however have to manage weight distribution through the muddy sections but over all, i'm proud of not only the tire but, myself as well for being able to overcome the shortcoming of the selected tire i had.

on another note, most guys have/had a much wider tire than i had, so that made it easier for them as well to pump through the mud, although it didn't seem to matter in Sundays race after hours of mud slinging from the prior days races and practices.

i'd love to see you come out and join us in the action Linz, have you spoke to Dean about his short experience that he had there?? He's a trooper.

I also spoke with Joe P (jp42) last night about coming to the next one but, he's going to be a bit busy that weekend so he won't be able to make it out..

Dean did tell me of his experience. I warned him it'd be brutal, especially without a knobby. Reminds of the time a guy showed up on a street legal KLR and we all chuckled at him. He finished two laps of a six lap race (one hour per lap loop, 2-rider tag team), so it was a moral victory for him of sorts, I suppose. (Ah, memories of my trusty Maico Spider that year.)

I have a full schedule in March, so hopefully soon after that, but we'll see since there's a return to school for me soon, too. I have my brother's CR125 at my disposal, but depending on the course, and I'd rather have torque these days.

But, like I said, going back to my roots next year. Been there, done that, but been wanting to go back again for a long while now. Of course I also have a hill to climb this year, so disposable income has been allocated.

Never raced in Point Blank but did ride there a couple of times! Pretty neat property!
