Just had mine done at Kwik Kar on hwy 3 just south of Clear Lake City Blvd. Ask for Cliff.

Don't think they look at the rims...you'll get a more "cursory" inspection at places like above vs. the mc shops that do inspections. At least, that's my experience.

Basic inspection:
Tire condition/wear, lights/signals/horn, etc.
You'll need $14.50 and proof of insurance.
Most inspection places like Mr. Sticker can do it.

You have been riding 5+ years and have had numerous bikes, and you have never seen an inspection?

I just got mine checked last week and all he did was check for horn, highbeams, and brakes. I'm pretty sure he didn't check for rims

Might want to keep an eye on that rim though...even a slight bend may make you go through tires...I had that happen before. Thought I had a balancing issue. $0.02

I'm an inspector and yes we're supposed to fail "severely bent" rims on all vehicles, but the likelihood of any inspector doing so is pretty slim. Personally I'd pass it and suggest that the owner get it taken care of, unless it's obviously really dangerous.

To any of you who are interested motorcycle inspections include:
Brake test
Tire tread depth and sidewall condition
Low and high beam
Tail lamp
Stop lamp
Atleast one mirror
License plate lamp
Horn
Wheel assembly
Exhaust
Steering
Rear red reflector
And technically we're required to apply the sticker on a part of the bike that is rear facing, not saying I do this.

That's just the official list, not saying I enforce all of this personally.
And by the way turn signals are not part of a motorcycle inspection whatsoever.

Hope this helps
