Intro to Interstate

Sun 3/4/2012; meet Fry Rd & Park Row - KSU 9:45

Fantastic beginner / noob ride. Includes some of the most scenic roads in this area as well as some interstate.

**Pace will be normal -- at PSL.** Exceptions will be for either safety or rider comfort. No one left behind, ever.

Open to all bikes and all riders
More than happy to see some variety, with cruisers / sport touring / adventure / sportbikes etc.

Excellent ride if you:
- are a fairly new rider
- have little or no experience on highways
- have riding experience and want to help our newbies
- prefer a gentler pace
- want some better scenery than the stereotypical flat marshland we normally ride through

Requirements: none, technically. Just please be legal (tags, license, insurance). Proper gear is highly encouraged. Squids subject to being laughed at and/or lectured.

~~ SUNDAY 3/4/2012 ~~
Meet at Fry Rd & Park Row, in Katy (Kroger / Starbucks center)
Social arrival 9:00am
Pre-ride meeting 9:20
KSU 9:45

** side note #1 **
I VERY much want to get some video. Got a GoPro? - bring it! I'll bribe.

** side note #2 **
Experienced riders PM me for route info. Noobs... just trust us. We're cool, seriously.

See y'all on the I2I ride!

I took a test-run last Sun and it was under 5 hours, but that included about a 1 hr+ lunch, and I rode at a snails pace with several long breaks.

So I'd say about 3 to 3 1/2 hours, at noob pace. Leaving at 9:30-10 we'd come back around 1 pm or so. If KSU gets pushed up to 8am we'd probably be back around 11-11:30

hunhh...

I rank pretty high on the "shy and quiet" scale m'self - but yeah everything's always pretty laid back. Easier to talk to folks once you've gone to several meets/rides and you can ask "How's _____ going/doing?" Hey I'll talk to ya.

BUMP #2

Still on!

Feel free to just show up... or sign up!

Weather is expected to be cold in the early morning but I expect upper 50's by ride time... throwing a hoodie on under the jacket might be a good idea. Also the first stretch is the longest one, so be sure to GAS UP before/when you get there. See ya!
