What would you have done in this situation?

Im going to put my flame suit on just in case.

I was riding down 59 cruising 85-90ish in the fast lane (not acting like a fool) not much traffic since it was 11:30am-ish and I see this Metro Police truck crossing the bridge from an HOV lane. Everything seems fine until he stops and goes into reverse and then stops above my lane and he might have pulled out a radar gun dunno, didn't really think about it. He turns on his lights right as i'm about to go under the bridge and he turns into the HOV lane heading south, the direction i'm going. I look back to see the truck a long ways back with his lights on so I slowed down thinking I was about to get a ticket. The only problem is that the truck was going like 60 and I was going 60 as well so he wasn't gaining. I thought about pulling over but then my exit came up to go back home. So i just exited and went home lol. Went past the court house with cops and stuff and they didn't give me a second look. Could I have just been paranoid thinking he was after me, when in fact he was just going to a traffic call? Can you get a ticket from a cop in the HOV while you are on the other side of the barrier?

Paranoia I guess... now that I think about it, what type of cop would try to stop someone on the other side of a barrier, when they can just switch lanes

flame suit?... this is a pretty mild thread... speeding some.. but not putting anyone in danger, not doing stupid ...and if the cop had been chasing you they would have followed... so maybe not your brightest day, but not flame suit worthy...

oh boy - I wouldn't trust what your fellow "law abiding" rider friends here are telling you. You just might end up with an "evading arrest" warrent. If I were you I'd call or get on the HPD website and tell this exact story and then include your tag number for reference in case Mr. PoPo on the bridge called it in. Include your DL number and get a copy of your driving record from Austin and include that also just so they can cross reference. You know, if you show the PoPo you're really just a nice guy most of the time the let you go..... Unless you get caught in Friendswood or Pasadena where they'll tie each nut to police bikes heading in opposite directions. But definatley report this incident just to be on the safe side...

Meh, if I get a warrant I'll just pay up or do the time... All that sounds like alot of work.

so, he should call the cops and admit he was breaking the law.

Yea, that sounds like a great idea
