while you're prob. right, i was rather impressed w/ the knowledge and range of riders on the busa.org board.

and making a commercial for 1 demo. alienates another whole one.

just cuz ricky G can cut a 8.5-8.9, most riders won't be able to run an 11.0, if they ever get to a track at all. just WFO.

OK. Let examine this for a second. You said Galveston right? Could the area be part of the issue? I think so. I'm also curious about how you get stuck behind them because they cant turn. Do they just stop in the street because they can't turn? Why is it that they can't turn?

Brothers like their drag racing a lot more then the road racing. That is one part of the equation.

I said Galveston cause I was referring to the biggest mass populated area in a single day for comparison reasons (Lonestar Rally)
I get stuck behind them on city streets cause they cannot turn their bikes with the 10''-30'' swingarm stretches and lack of skill. Ive literally seen people three point turn a stretched 'Busa (Fat Tire) on a normal 1 lane right turn......its ridiculous
Now this isnt all African Americans by no means but Im just stating that most of them are riding the busas/ zx14 (If their broke then Katanas and TL's hahaha)

I have never seen a 30" stretch. I would imaging that would be hard to turn. A 10" is nothing though. I can barley notice my is longer than stock at 7" over.

Yes, I saw the commercial. Here is my take on it. Firstly, it sucked. But, only becuase it had nothing to do with the bike. However, DMX may have been chosen based on his affiliation with the Ruff Ryderz motorcycle crew. Eh, who knows. Besides, it was nice to hear from ole DMX. He has had a rough past few years. And, assuming he's clean, it's nice to see him working again. Past that, yes, I agree, the video was trash...

Its a great platform to drag race. A little Google searching will show you who does a lot of drag racing on Busas and 14's.

Embarrassing to say I never realized Ruff Ryderz was actually a motorcycle crew. (I suppose age related ignorance could be blamed). Good to know though.

Reading the Wiki page holy yeah I mean DMX pretty much spent from 2000-present in and out of jail. The most interesting arrest I saw was this, "On July 27, 2010, DMX turned himself in to Los Angeles Metropolitan Court for a reckless driving charge he received in 2002. He was sentenced to serve ninety days in jail."

Anyway completely off topic sorry and no I would not get that Monster, the weight and size just don't appeal to me.

What is your take on the bike? Don't worry about the commercials or who you see riding them.

The commercial is so so. I don't see how it alienates any demographic. It is just DMX talking. No different than any other voice used in a commercial.

I love the bike. Which is weird because I hated the previous zx-14's because of it's looks. Past that, I love the thing. It's beefy and hella powerful. It was either this or the hayabusa and I figure what the heck. I see way more busa's on the road than kawi's. But, more than that, I wanted something with a little flair and some power to match. It's overly styled ergo's and ridicluous engine output made it a sure win for a big guy such as myself (250lb). Not really into stretching or drag racing but the numbers don't lie, it's a beast! It just nice to know that I have all of that power at my disposal. I'm fairly certain my bike will never see the drag strip. Now, the track on the other hand...

I don't particularly care for the looks of the 14 but you can't argue with the power they are making... You can't put a whole lot of stock in the fact that Ricky G ran xxxx on anything.... Ricky can make ANYTHING run fast.... So can Ryan Schnitz.... Ryan went an 8.48 on a stock engined S1000RR(very well prepped/tuned mind you)....

I do think the new ZX14 is an 8.90 bike out of the box though with an arm, gears and a pipe...
