thinking of picking one of these up... what do y'all think of these over a traditional roost? Black or white, which is better?

Looks cool, but going to be a pain to clean it after a ride. Go white, storm trooper.

I think the idea, on the street anyway, would be to wear that under a jacket that doesn't have armor or one that doesn't have ENUFF armor.

Note this is posted in the "Dirtbike" section... Its intended use is for offroad riding only.

Hotnanas, riding with just a longsleeve cotton jersey can get pretty toasty. How have you found this thing to be in the summer?

i wear the Thor impact gear version.
its way better in my opinion than the tipycal roost vest as it stays in place.
the thor i wear is very breathable in the summer with only the jersey over it.
when the weather permits, i use and under armor compression shirt so it comes off easier.
plus the fabric is less than comfortable without one.
mine has a chest, back, elbow, kidney and shoulder guards for about $120...

for the summer I removed the back protector and wear a vented jersey. I have not been uncomfortable enough to discontinue its use. the key is to keep moving and letting the air flow over.
