I was the one with the digital tire guage :BangHead:

We should keep a list of Motorcycles Unlimited Quoteables.

Patrick: Who uses a pressure washer to clean a bike?
*couple people raise hand*
Patrick: Oh goody, you all get a gold star for using pressure to put water where it was never meant to be!

hahahahahhahahha

Thank you Motorcycles Unlimited, I walked away knowing more than when I walked in, the class was informative and fun.

Sounds like y'all had fun and learned a few things. Sorry I couldn't make it, but I'll try for the next one.

*Note to self - don't raise my hand for ANY of Patricks "who does this" questions*

No no no, you got it all wrong... It's ok to answer his questions, just remember the answer is always "no" or "Not me" :laughing6 :laughing6 :laughing6

Seriously though, really, it was a really fun and really informative session and Patrick was not mean, in fact, he gave us cookies and milk :P

I would recommend it for anyone who isn't familiar with their bike, and even for people who are familiar. No matter how much you know, I'm sure you will walk away with something more than what you brought in.

I may have missed something, but, what was wrong with the digital tire gauge? Not accurate enough or was it a specific brand or just all out digital tire gauges are unacceptable?

In my experience, most digital gauges do not give repeatable accuracy.
I base this on the number of gauges we've checked on our calibrator as well as disassembling a few of them and seeing how they're made.

Most of them use a coiled wire spring, just like a dial gauge, to measure the pressure. Typically the wire material is cheap and doesn't always give the same tension, plus they are more sensitive to being dropped, tossed in the toolbox etc..
