Basic Bike Maintenance Workshop

I've been involved with MH ever since it's inception, when Chris invited me over to post and help with tech questions etc.

I would like to take it a step further.

We see bikes daily at the shop that are in desperate need of basic maintenance.
Minor things that can easily be done by their owners but aren't, and then do turn into something major.

Most of the time it's because the owner isn't aware of how to do it.

So here's what I'm going to do;

Every 1st Saturday of the month at 9:30 a.m., we will be having a free Basic Bike Maintenance Workshop.

I will choose one participants bike, we will put it on a lift and go over all of the basic maintenance items that need to be done, and how to do them.
At the same time we will answer any basic maintenance questions you may have.

Because I would like everyone attending to be able to see everything, I'm limiting the workshop to 10 attendees each time.

If interest / turnout dictates it, I may add a second workshop the 3rd Saturday of each month.

Because I've done this too late in December to have it the first Saturday of the month, I'll do it next Saturday, the 16th.

If the weather is too bad to ride, no worries, I'll put one of my bikes up.

Hope to see you all there!

This is a great idea! I've done a ton of work on bikes but I always appreciate seeing the way a professional does work.

One small suggestion, have the tool catalog handy! I have a strong feeling once people see how the right tool for the job makes things easier, they will want to buy the right tools!

See you in Jan.,
Mike

what kinda stuff are you going to go over? I'd like to attend, but I already know how to tighten chain, allign rear wheel, lube chain, change oil, change coolant, remove wheels, change spark plugs, air filter, coils.

think I should still go?

I only know the very basics, so I'm in.
I'll have to do the "sport bike to tractor conversion" in my head when you go over specifics
