looks like it was gonna try and pass the car on the outside.. while the car also tried to move outta the way, thus squeeing him into the guardrail, he probably panicked, braked, and lost traction. +1 for the leathers though.

Don't let this video give you a false impression... leathers generally aren't impact absorbing materials (though they do have some armor), they are protection against abrasive injuries such as road rash. This dude was SUPER lucky. I watched a dude 3 bikes in front of me crash into a guardrail and he was split in two at the waist... needless to say leathers didn't help him.
