SHNF for single track , and plenty of dirt roads that would need a plate and Insurance .

the single track would need the Offroad vehicle sticker .

Just for clarification, SHNF is the Sam Houston National Forest. About 45 minutes north of Houston.

A lot of also ride MX up at Rio Bravo and 3 Palms. There's also a regular group who run Hare Scambles on here too (go to the Dirt Thread)

Several options for dirt riders around here....lots of MX tracks, lots of enduros/hare scrambles. A lot of us from MH ride with Texas Xtreme Offroad Racing....their website is here:

http://www.texasxtremeoffroadracing.com/

they have a sub forum on texas offroad network- this site has MULTIPLE orginizations (TXORR, TORCS, TORN, etc.) and tracks from all over Texas....you can find all kinds of valuable info on here:

http://www.texasoffroad.net/forum/ubbthreads.php

SHNF is cheap ($16 for offroad permit sticker) and $5 per visit or $25/annually. They have about 80 miles of trails available over several hundred acres.

http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/ohv/ride.phtml

and last, but not least....welcome to MotoHouston!
