the time has come

back in 2007 i attended my first trackday,i went on to do about 30 in 2008.
and about the same in 2009.
started racing in '10 and continued through '11.......
for '12 , sounds like im done with the roadracing scene.
will prolly back track to TD's and call it good.
has anyone here gone though this , imean just getting fed up ?
been doing some enduro-type riding and hare scramble stuff, much less hassle and way less drama in the sport.

i remember when i kept reading about the whole club level road racer's career life span and thinking ,huh?!?!?

I've never been road racing, but why did you decide to stop racing?

I'm on that boat, Joe. I just needed a break, I decided to take 2012 from all kinds of road riding (street, TDs and racing). However, I went to the track on Saturday and since them, the bug bite me back, I am trying to fight it but, it's there.

It definitely will burn you out. Especially in the wallet. I haven't been to the track in 10 months.

good to see you posting here walter!

sad to see it's become that way for you Joe. don't you remember the endurance race at ecr when i helped push your dying bike back to your pits?!? that's what club racing is supposed to be about. people always lose sight of the brotherhood in motorcycle racing, but if you can push past the 2-3 year mark, you'll be in for a treat. just gotta try and stay outta the BS and remember why you race... for yourself. me and my woman are having our baby in 2 days, so i'll be out for the first few rounds for sure, but hope to be back by summer..... really hope to see you there!

actually ,i do remember like it was yesterday Tony.
that action in itself said alot about the fellow racers, i dont think i will totally turn my back on the CMRA, just need to take a step back and see if its something i really want to keep doing here.....

yeah, i went all in at one point and ended up folding as well..... but we're gamblers! lol we win some, we lose some... but it's the thrill of the game that keeps us in it. there's nothing wrong with taking a step back, it'll actually be really good for ya. so that when you do come back, it'll be that much better. take care of yourself Joe!

Joe,

I can't say I blame you. All the drama lately makes it tough to enjoy the racing scene. I'd much prefer to sit around and have a beer after the races with everyone.
