...and why would i want to use this? A lot of sharp rocks to slice tires on?

BTW, how are these events for emergency services, i.e. I crash and mess myself up?

How does this circuit compare to TORCS?

medic on site with all the basics, backboard, etc. No ambulance here though. How does it compare? Probably smaller turnout than TORCS race, very "family-like" atmosphere, all around good peeps. I've never raced another series so I couldn't tell you for sure....I would say this is probably a good series to get your feet wet though with fewer peeps, no transponders, well marked courses, etc.

Otis is now starting to mark the course with mile markers....this way if someone is severely hurt or stuck they can be found with relative ease. When I tore my ACL, on site medic did a fine job of getting me back to camp and getting me temporarily fixed up.

SLIME is for the cactus and thick brush that you might run over. It's a $10 insurance against flats.

Like I said in the PM, it's very family like, and you will find yourself at the end of this weekend wondering why you were so worried. It's always a great time. I promise you will love it....and maybe love to hate it.

You'll never see the thorn that gives you the flat. Slime is kind of a good idea for any off-roader. It's not necessary at the SHNf or at the MX track, but if you go anywhere else...

you'd do just great on that 2smoker...Beginner class is just as much fun as the more advanced groups. You might be winded after trying to keep a "race pace" for an hour, but if you can hold back the reigns and ride at 75% and keep a moderate pace you'll do great!

I suggest bark busters for those who don't have them installed on their bikes though....these woods can get tight from time to time.

perfect!

you surround yourself with people with the same interest. Only you can ride your bike, so ride YOUR pace, and all is well.

This harescramble (race, ride, practice, good time...whatever you want to call it) might turn into a MH dirty get together!

When I did the Red Canyon enduro a few weeks ago, I was cleaning the bike when I got home and found about a 1.25" thorn in the rear tire. Never knew it was there. Tire Slime works for sure. Another guy in my group found 2 thorns inside his from tire as well from the same race.

Celine says she wants to do this, but she hasn't even washed my 250 that she took to CO in july 2011. If i can get bikes ready in time, we should be there. (read: if/should)

Wish I had heard that about a month ago. A buddy of mine just sold all his gear, pants, jersey, gloves, roost, helmet + googles, MX boots... for like $100.

Fluvanna was GREAT. A few of the guys I ride with have been to Moab and said it's pretty much like a mix between Moab and Central TX (Hidden Falls oout side of Austin).
