i'd appreciate some pointers on launching! I used to consider it a strength of mine but after this wekeends races, i cant seem to launch my new bike for chit! fyi, its a lil ol' 600 and I road race. I ran it at the track a couple times and best I came up with is a 10.9 pretty consistent 11.2's i'd like to be around 10.5 or lower consistently. Any and all pointers are appreciated.

My best 60' on my stock length 600 was 11.0 with a 1.60 60'. I'm heavy and I cant seem to slide that clutch out

Got to keep the RPMs up and be willing to slide the out of the clutch.600s are really hard to launch due to no torque.Usually a lot of gear helps too.My 1000 is geared 16 - 48.It actually runs out of rpm at about 1300 ft but it still ets better than it does with a 47 tooth rear

Yea you gotta have that 600 about on the rev limiter and just slide the clutch out. I always tried to look at it as I wanted to carry the front wheel about an inch off the ground from the line through first gear. Dont wanna dump the clutch but wanna let it out qucik enough that you are pulling off the line not just moving forward. I was able to run a pretty consistent 10.60 on my friends 600 back around the time we last had a mh drag strip meet. They are all about keeping the rpms up so you dont fall on your face right off the line.

You know those cords you see on jet skis that goes around your wrist. Same thing and concept. You can Velcro the attaching end to your ignition kill switch. It's so to kill the bike if you fall off.
