Editing Thread Titles....

From what I've "searched", I see the vB board allows a 5 minute timer on editing posts, and that is not granted after, so one couldn't change info in a for sale thread. Understood.

Why can't we edit thread titles though? Seems like it would be useful.
I would like to update the Date in my new build thread, that way people know to look if I've posted new pics, etc.

Example:
"Senator's New R6 Build Thread"
"Senator's New R6 Build Thread *Updated 2/8"

It would also be useful for M&G threads like:
Monday Night Minis
Tuesday Night Super Motards
Wednesday Katy Meet
Wednesday WHAK Meet

These meets are continuous and if we could edit the title to put a new date in, it would allow people to know about the upcoming date instead of creating a whole new thread or thinking it's already past. People are always putting in the wrong dates, "day", or wrong year of the bike they're selling in their titles as well.

Just a thought!

I agree, especially when you realized you posted a thread and misspelled something in the title.

I don't even know if vB allows this type of control, but it would definitely be useful.

I can definetly see your logic in being able to change the dates for specific meets vs. starting a new thread every week. the MNM meet has 144 pages, and we want to keep it going strong.

i dont see that changing but if you would like something updated just report the original post to the thread and we can edit the title or whatever.

btw i nor any other mod have control over what rights any one member has.

I guess it would be free user reign off editing titles/posts at any moment.
Guess I'll request to get a title update when I post pics of big parts of the project completed.
Thanks Dave for the tip.
