.25 cent wings & $2.50 drafts. 2-8-12 sawyer park

Trying to get there anywhere from 8-9. Me and a few friends are riding there tonight. Invite open to anyone else in the area. Then ride out to Pp1 and more than likely ride some routes.

I like Sawyer and I like the special on the wings... But when I have been there, they are not too bike friendly for parking...

Do you know the manager or something to help that out?

I came here about a year ago or so, and was denied entrance to the place for wearing baggy jeans (I was wearing normal fitted nautica blue jeans.) Didn't even know they had a dress code to begin with, if I did, I would have dressed in the appropriate attire. I figured it was just a bar right? (never been) so didn't think to much of the dress code.

That wasn't even a problem, didn't bother me at all because this is of course my fault for not knowing their dress code. - no biggie

What I got about was how they treated me as a customer or potential customer. When I got there, some in the front (bouncer douche) told me to leave right away, he was very cocky and rude. He told me my pants were to ghetto and baggy. those people. This alone made me want to never go back their again. Hopefully you guys don't experience what I went thru, because it was for 1.) embarrassing (was with some chick) and 2.) a big waste of gas coming from SL.

I really wanted to check this place out. The place looks really cool and I even have heard some good things about them from a few friends, but after the way they treated me, that immediately changed.

http://www.yelp.com/biz/sawyer-park-sports-bar-houston

there are mixed reviews about the place, but this one hit the nail on the head.

Quote:
Wouldn't let my friend in because his jeans were "tattered" on the bottom. It was the night everything closed down because of ice. It was super dark and hardly anyone out....you really want to lose money because of his jeans?

Take the phrase sports bar out of your name because you don't deserve it.

I been going there after work (8p) n its pretty dang packed. Only about 4 tables open. Mixed crowd. New riders right, they're not too friendly with parking..but prolly bc they don't have any parking to begin with. I only had problems once parking about 5 mos ago. Ever since, they let me park in front.

Doesn't sound too inviting...

And most places on Washington don't have any parking. That's nothing new.

They play their music LOUD ALL THE TIME so a conversation would consist of a whole lot of YELLING. Lately the times we went they have been bike friendly but it gets really crowded. Upstairs is full bar but no kitchen so you will have to get your food downstairs. Service is a hit and miss and it's usually Karaoke night wednesdays.
