kx 80 need some input

Ok so i bought a 2000 kx80 to turn into a mini motard for tmgp. So that was my original plan, but after some debating i came to the conclusion that i would not have as much time as i would like to ride the bike all the way in katy (i live in spring). So i decided to keep it as dirt machine. I bought some fresh rubber, and now im just waiting for my sear cover to get here. It was a.fixxer upper when i bought it, so i put alot of time, $$$, and elbow grease into it. I would hate to just get rid of it, because of all the effort i put into it. Ok so im 180 lbs and i know this bike is set up for a small rider, and not to hauke an adult around. Motor does fine and it rips pretty good for an 80cc with a full grown adult. I plan on riding it up at three palms that is just a hop skip and a jump away from my house. I want to try to get into dirt with this bike. Am i going to look like a complete douche riding this thing?? Should i just get a bigger bike now?? For being a small bike, its still a blast to ride around. I think it will still be fun to ride at three palms. What do yall think????

Good to hear. Thats what i was thinking too. Mini- fun....lol. i know its not practical as a race application, or even extreme motocrossing. Im just looking for the fun factor. As long as the frame doesnt crack in half when i get 12inches of air....lmao

+1

A full size MX bike would fit you alot better than the 80. The suspension, wheelbase, handling and powed of a 125, 250 or 450 will better suit you. You will surely have fun on the 80 but "having the right tool for the job" makes all the difference.

Plus if you ride it on the full size tracks out there people will laugh at you. Not that that matters, people laugh at me all the time. Its cause they are jealous.

Sorry but Id be like wtf is that guy riding that little bike ?

not because its funny but its unsafe and unstable for an adult to jump and rip it up, you would probaly end up hurt quick.

I have 2 boys one with a cr125 and the other with an 80, that little sumbitch is dangerous with me on it , but for my son its perfect

Unstable???? Ok i know adults have a higher center of gravity, and the bike has a shorter wheelbase than larger bikes. But with such little power it seems pretty manageable. And i could only see it as unsafe if ur taking large jumps. I probaby wont jump it higher than a few feet...lol. i do appreciate your input. I kind of figured i was gonna get mixed opinions.

I would go to the closest and easiest track to you. I dont go to three trees because it is a jeorney and cost a bit to be able to ride there. I have a yz250 i would consider selling. Not too sure yet.
