Exclamation TX Title help please.

So some of you may know I've been looking for a straight frame for my bike. I bought a frame from this chick locally and she has all the bills of sale and such and like a dumbass I go for it. I spent $500 on a frame and I think it has a lien on it.

I ran the vin and nothing. It's not stolen but I can't register it at the DMV cause it shows a lien. I'm screwed but this is where I want to make it right. I already bought the frame, is there anyway I can find out who the lien holder is and pay them to get the title?

And you've guessed it, that chick I bought it from is ghost.

^ that's true. I just did some research and even if I pay the lien, the title will be sent to the original owner. .
Seriously. !

I bought it without the title thinking I can file for lost title with the bill of sale that's how I found out it has a lien.

It has 2 liens on it. One from HSBC retail in 2005 and another from GE Money Bank in 2007.

^once again thank you for your help man. You've got a beer on me.

The thing that just hit me is this frame could have been stolen and me trying to trust someone local, could have gotten me in a big jam. I posted an ad on craigslist looking for a clean frame and that's how I met her.

I'm going to go ahead and save up for a brand new frame and just have my clean vin stamped on it by either the DMV or the dealer. Do it right and legit or don't do it all. Learn from my $500 mistake everyone.

The world is full of some up people. I'm about to go get wasted to take this edge off before I something up.

Not that it would be "legal", but how difficult would it be to put your old, clean VIN on the new frame?
I'm just sayin'.
