Senator's New R6 Build Thread **Update 2/20**

So just picked up a new one to put in the stable! Still need to name her, but here's the details:
2006 R6
GPR v4
Graves clip-ons
Race-plastic (Optimal?)
GP slip on
BMC air filter
EBC HH pads
SS brake lines (not sure of brand)
Keyless gascap
MotionPro grips
RK 520 Chain (-1/0)
GP Shift

Even though there are a few mods, here's my plan/wist list. I'm sure I'll be adding to this as time goes on:
M4/Olson midpipe
AGG smog block-off plates
Bazzaz zFi /AFM
MotionPro quickturn throttle tube
Refreshed forks
Different paint
All Racing bearings
Shermoto Levers
Vortex rearsets
Vortex gas cap (the one now is too small)
Change oil/flush coolant
Different paint scheme
Suspension set
Custom tail/headlight if I decide to put it on the street.

Can't wait to be back on the track. Been along time for me. Still learning alot about the newer R6's, so any tips/tricks are appreciated!
I plan to update this thread as I progress with the mods.

See you guys soon!

Thanks guys, I'm pretty stoked at this point. Got some work before she can really hit it.

Floyd- I definitely will. Debating on whether to buy fuel controller or midpipe, since my budget will be restricted for a little bit.

Jimrad- Yes, I plan to get it street legal as well, though it will take some time.

It's definitely a WISH/plan list, so it's not gonna happen right away....

But I also didn't include the small stuff, like checking torque specs, thread lock, cleaning up wiring/zipties, checking filters for problems, emptying fuel tank, lubing all cables, and chain maintenance.

I've never felt comfortable hitting the front straight at TWS (Texas World Speedway) at high triple digits on a bike I've never gone through.

his name's Chris F right?
I need to get ahold of him, but thought it was a little awkward since I don't know him personally.

I know you know a ton about these, so looking forward to some of that vast knowledge.....and your smog plates......

that's him. and yea, everything's golden on that bike - well, it was when it left my garage. the only "weird" thing you should know is that it actually has an 08+ subframe, and not an 06/07 like normal. just a heads up.

i used motion pro cable lube before installing the quickturn also. depinned the headlight/blinker/horn housing from the clutch sensor so you still can start in any gear with the clutch pulled.

any questions, just ask me... if i remember, that "knowledge" is yours.

and fyi, i THINK we already put in a set of the plates... you can check from the side. if there's natural aluminum on top of the valve covers, we did. if it's nasty dark looking, we didn't. i can't imagine tearing into one and NOT doing it though... that's something i recommend on ANY bike. "lose the you don't need."
