What suit protects you?

I'm in the market for a 1pc suit and I was wondering what most track riders/racers choose to ride in. I really like the Ride Smart Taichi leathers, but I am also considering other options, but I'm not looking for an entry level suit. What do you have to say about the brand and model suit you ride in?

I love my BKS suit. It's not very popular but seems well built and had good reviews but mostly in the UK.

All last season I used a Moto GP suit. Never went down on it, but it was a great suit. *Knock on wood*

Fantastic suits,
used to be one off hand made, made to measure suits that were horrendously expensive ($1800 +) but bought by Frank thomas and now more mainstream.
Certainly an elite status suit in Euro

Ride Smart Taichi makes great suits. If you're looking for a good suit, I'd look into Heroic as well. They're a smaller company, but make some of the best stuff out there. One of the few manufacturers that incorporate sting ray into their suits. Sting ray is legit stuff.

Custom is the way to go for best protection.Joe Rocket,Frank Thomas,Moto Gp are a little lacking when compared with others.A stars,Teknic are decent, but a little over priced to me

Teknic Xcelerator 1piece FTW. Feels great and been wearing it for a few years now. Even before I started selling them. Very comfy and supple leather and lighter than some with the Kangaroo leather in it. Actually fits me more like a tailored suit in the chest and legs. It also keeps me really cool in the summer with all the air vents and perforation. I used to wear Alpinstar, but really have to run with a 2 pc suit with them so the legs won’t be so baggy on me when sizing it to my shoulders and chest.
Check them out. TEKNIC SUITS

Lots of good options, but the three suits and one jacket I've currently got are Dainese. Two of them have been crash tested more than once. One is a K suit, one's a two piece and the other is a set of Ducati leathers from them, plus a "Tattoo" jacket. I've had other brands, and there are a lot of good ones out there. You have to watch out with some though, as they have really good product lines and not as good product lines within the same brand. AGV, Teknic and A* come to mind.

I've had the three afforementioned brands as well. My first AGV stuff wasn't so hot, the second suit was made in Italy and was better quality. Upper end Teknic is good, but some of their Pak/China stuff doesn't hold up so well. Same goes with A*. It bears mentioning that I'm not talking about fake E-Bay knockoff either, but items purchased directly from stores.

Dainese is overpriced, but the quality is pretty consistent for everything I've had. I also really like Dainese and Held for gloves. I've had a $250 pair of Held race gloves that have been crashed twice and worn for 9 years and are just now starting to rip in the palms. I went through 3 pair of carbon knuckled Teknic gloves in 3 years before I got the Helds, and not from crash damage. I have a pair of A* GP gloves as well that didn't last very long, though their 1-piece suits seem to crash pretty well based on what I've seen. knows I've crash tested a couple pair of their boots and been happy with them...

I had a Teknic two-piece years ago that held up, but then I also saw my friend Richard's Teknic one piece blow apart at the seams on him at CMP during the '01 WERA season. I guess your mileage may vary with any of them, but I've consistently been satisfied with the Dainese stuff.
