OK I'll bite.

You seem to be on a very limited budget. LITTLE projects turn into pricey projects. Also you are looking at an older bike to build for the general purpose of track time. Again putting the right peices together to accomplish your goal for the track with an older bike can really lighten the wallet.

I'd suggest you find a bike already set up for the track and go from there. There are a couple older model bikes listed in the classifieds section that are pretty much trun key and set up for the track already.

Can easily find an SV 650 for ~2k that you can track.

Check classifieds for paul1098's SV650. Completely turn key and well set up including tires. Make him a reasonable offer, like 2500

An older bike for cheap will probably need...
Carb serviced, cheap on your own
New tires
New chain and sprockets
Brake pads
Front end sprung
Rear shock may need replacing
Etc, etc

I've bought old bikes to fix up. As an example I picked up an older, decent, FZR600. By the time I was done with it, I had a fun track bike and SMR bike to play with...and I had a total of 3300 in it!

Fun bike and fun experience, but not really cost effective.

Your call as to what balance you are looking for.

the problem with tracking a bike of that vintage is that crash parts aren't as readily available anymore.
