Im still not sure if I want to lie to my kids about santa, or just teach them right away its fake.
Maybe If I tell them its just an "icon" of christmas, they wont go ruin it for the other kids too soon......But isint that the fun of it? bashing a childs dream, and then sending them off to the parents to take care of it?

If I ever have any, they will most likely not get the whole Santa tradition. It's all about the toys anyway. They don't care where they came from.

the only reason i WOULDN'T tell my kid that santa doesn't exist is i wouldn't want them telling all of the other kids and ruining their x-mas, but i don't think parents should lie to their kids, especially if it's pro-active lying, even if it does make them happy temporarily. if you're going to lie to them to make them happy at least be a little more creative than Santa.
