nobody's feelings were hurt but your own. those low balling people you were about...they also work for their money, have bills to pay, people to take care of, everything you have to work for, so do they. so excuse the person that had to grind all week and manage to save a some cash to spend on their hobby to prevent themselves from going on a shooting spree in this cruel world. they are just trying to get the most out of the money that put in the time for...just like you. so you're mad because your business failed. its no ones fault but your own. stop acting like a and learn from your mistakes.

nobody cares for your phony apology. I hope this thread gets deleted too.

Save the Fealings they are on the endangered species list.

But whats new everyone wants something for nothing. In the end you get what you pay for.

at my age I sometimes have a hard time accepting what some things cost today...
so there are times i pass on things, because to me it is just not worth the price...
I am not too much of a negotiator... if someome tells me how much they want for something and I want it for that, I buy it.... if I think their price is too much, I walk away, I ususally do not make a counter offer, unless they ask for one...
I don't want to hurt anyones feelings or insult them and that is why I rarely make counter offers....
I rarely take counter offers if I have something for sale, I list a price that to me represents a fair value and leave it at that...
now if I am just wanting to get rid of something then I might say make me an offer...

lol

I only do that when they are an obvious pain in the , and I know I am going to have a problem. They will have to pay for being a difficult customer or by all means take their business somewhere else.

Your getting very close to ending up on the naughty list.

I had one customer a few weeks back that I had to tell her like 8 times if she would like to shop around we can hold off on the purchase today. She finally got the picture and left.

, wish i would have seen that thread... lowballers are just a fact of life... , i do it too if i really don't need something but think it'd be fun or nice to have. maybe i shouldn't spend money on it but if it's such a good price that i can't really pass it up, i'll go for it. only way to know is to ask.

as far as paying for quality... that is only true to an extent. show me how a $10K paint job is going to be better than a $9000 paint job... or could i save that extra $1K? same thing goes for my photography business... is a $4k wedding photographer worse than a $5k one? let the work speak for itsself and the market will tell you what you can charge. if that photographer is really overbooked for $4k, maybe he raises his price to $5k and it slows a tad but he still stays busy. the same can't be said that if he is barely making it at $4k but decides to try to raise prices... he may lose a lot of business.

in the end, it's all about how good is your product? if people are lowballing you, it may be that they are offering what they feel you are worth... don't take it as an insult, just use it to learn that in order to get the moeny you want, you have to do something better then the others or market to a different group of people.

marketing a $5k service to a high school student doesn't make much sense, same issue as offering walmart quality service to a millionaire... you can't please both so figure out your audience and go from there

There is looking for a good deal, and there is lowballing.

Some people throw out a lowball number to help start negotations.

Not sure what happened here though, so I can't really comment.
