GSS- what the is up?

I just checked the GSS website and they say that their school will be the only ones on their track this year...
they have several dates up for motorcyles with the same divisions as Novice, Intermediate and advanced....
they are taking sign ups for those dates on line... but no info as to who is doing the instruction...
earlier they had said that they would have a pro-racer, but they do not mention that now...
anybody got any info as to who is going to run things there and who the instructors will be?
They do have a notice that they are looking for qualified instructors, hope they did not pick up some that the other local groups let go...
, I actually like that little track.

i've heard groove union - i guess they're the owners - are doing it all themselves. not sure if that'll work, but we'll see.

it's a shame, really - i do like that track and wish they'd make it easier for MORE orgs to go there and use the track (maybe then they could afford better/some facilities). haha

Well, we know it isn't you.

Kidding... you said that to me when I asked who the pro was.

It seems pretty to try and capitalize on what Tim did for that track in terms of exposure.

It's dog eat dog out there.. 2012 is going to be a struggle for track orgs. I'm tellin ya man. Ride Smart has 38 dates, there are about 20 dates between 3 orgs at MSRH, 14 at GSS (supposedly) and LSTD has 12-15 I'd guess. Not to mention Elite Trackdays. Ride Smart has already dropped prices in anticipation of all this.

hmmm. I don't know what to make of it either. A family member bought me a groove union TD, from the website, thinking it was the same as fastline. So now I have this credit, and I don't even know what's going on over there. The first few dates they have match up with Fastline MSRH days, which I will not be missing, so I'll probably use mine in march. Hopefully someone I know will go as well. Guess i'll see how their first few TDs pan out before riding with them.

Uhg. I love that track. I have run it with Fastline and I ran it when LSTD did a day there. I'd give it a try if Ride Smart did it as well.

I'm not going to rule out running it as GU, but it's the orgs that make it a good experience.

I am in Austin now, and I am arranging to buy back my 03 CRF450 motard but mainly was doing it for Harris Hill (Elite) because I heard it was motard friendly. The short Cresson track is fun as well. I understand the MSRH short track Tim has in mind is motard friendly also.

Seems that there are enough options to hang back and use other sites and one of the three orgs (four with HH) I mentioned before heading back there with GU. I really don't want to be a Guine Pig for a first shot at them running bikes at a track day.

Uhg.

guess that answers that. so just open track days? all levels mixed... should be fun and uber safe. at least they have a big deck now.

and FTR - i thoroughly enjoy the track. it's sticky and butter smooth. i have a special place in my heart for it b/c i was chasing alonzo and EK and got my left knee down for the first time in 2 years. haha.

+1 this man knows what I know, and many others know.

Ask yourself this.

Why hasnt LSTD gone back (they went once)

Why hasnt Ride Smart gone back (I think they went once)

Why hasnt TTD gon.....er....NM

Why does it look like Fastline wont be there this year.

Hint... it isnt about the track being too expensive to rent.
