State Farm called... "Is it a..."

Been with State Farm for years, today i get a call...they want to
Know if the fz is a sport bike or a cruiser.

20+ minutes trying explain its neither...and how/why. I hope/think
I got em seeing as a...touring bike, or closer to a cruiser than a sportbike.

true!!

I remember back in the early 90's, my insurance company (sorta rhymes with OBSESSIVE) charged me a sur-charge on my 91 Kaw ZX-7 because the model had the word "NINJA" in it!!!

"Obsessive" wanted 3k/year for full coverage and they were the cheapest so I had to go with liability which was 300/year

They should know how to price a standard, didnt have any issues with my Zed. Price was slightly higher than my cruiser and the Daytona was more than either with the lowest CC's.

i got a letter in the mail last week saying that they're making changes to their motorcycle policies and that most people will end up with lower costs, but they wanted me to come in and talk with them. i hope i don't get screwed. i'm only paying $48/month for full coverage on a turbo busa and $40/month for full coverage on a drz400. i think they classify the busa as a tourer, not a sportbike. and my age probably has a lot to do with it too; i remember being quoted $3k year for full coverage on a busa 10 yrs ago. hope it works out in our favors!

I remember when I got my insurance through Allstate and I told the girl I am insuring a Kawasaki "ER6F" (didn't even dare say "Ninja" or "650r"). She told me, "that isn't one of those 'sport bikes' now is it?". "No", I said..."it's a 'touring' bike'" lol

Strange! I just received a letter from State Farm suggesting that I could save money. Perhaps, now is my chance to tell them the Hayabusa is a cruiser, as well!

My first ZX6R was 3600/yr in 2000. They paid out 7600 3 months later when it was stolen. Glad I chose FC despite the high cost

Initially, I called HIGHCO to see what the insurance would cost on my Hayabusa, and they told me it would be $5k/yr.! I told her she must be kidding, I could purchase a new bike every 3 years, instead.

Call this place Soto 713-686-7686 they find you the cheapest rate,
I have had 90 ish traffic tickets in 15 years and i pay 119 a year for liability on my 636 ninja

I don't even have a class M , I'm going to get it this year, i say that every year

I think they wanted 151 a month for full coverage and I'm 30

Allstate wanted 1k for a years coverage for my KLR. They said that it was partly because it was a new bike and that I am under 25 but mostly because since it was, "OBVIOUSLY not a cruiser then it must be a sport bike."

The thing barely hits 100 mph going downhill with a tailwind.

State Farm was cheap compared to all the rest.......I think my Busa is $1k a year compared to $3k-$5k a year the rest of them wanted....
