My puckered up moment of the day...

I had just got off the 59north and turned right onto Kingwood dr to head home and as I was coming onto the first intersection with some railroad tracks 2 big oversized SUVs scared the out of me...

So here is the scenario:

I was on the left lane cruising around 40-45, taking it easy not breaking too many laws (it was the end of my ride). I have green with no cars around me and about 20ft before I cross, an SUV with a distracted woman coming from opposite lanes of traffic tries to make a left. I look to the right and another SUV with a distracted wom--er I mean person going northbound is turning right skipping the right lane and going into my lane! SO she is blocking any escape. At this moment my heart sank and I thought I was toast. Luckily they noticed me at the last second, as if this was some choreographed routine intended to scare the out of bikers. They gave me the I'm sorry look and I went on my way shaking my head.

I was shaken up pretty bad and even forgot how to shift for a moment after that.

So that's my cool story I wanted to share
Be safe guys/gals!

Speaking of this, it's my main reason for avoiding fm1960 at all costs. Its one of the more terrifying roads I've ever been on..

It's just amazing how many distracted cagers there are. I can probably count at least 6 out of 10 drivers on their phone when I'm riding.

I was also on 59 northbound yesterday and had some cager come within two inches of my front tire - trying to switch lanes and not even looking. Too many drivers just don't care.

I hate being stopped at an intersection waiting on a light... you are in your most defenseless moments of a ride...

That one and Veterans Memorial from the Beltway-8 to FM1960. Too many cars turning left in front of you. Glad you made it OK.

I was turning left onto the feeder of 290 from West Road, the other day. A guy, coming from head on, runs the redlight. Luckily I see him and stop in time. This looks at me, knows what he's done wrong and still flips me the bird as he's going by!

What an !

And the cycle continues...

You bust his up, he nearly kills another rider, repeat...

Best solution (but impossible when riding) is to call his plate # into local PD and let them know someone might be drinking and driving. Crossing over lanes, almost ran into you, run lights, etc.

Remember fellas, its YOUR job to stay alive. Nobody else really gives half a .

Except for the fun of jumping those railroad tracks on Kingwood Drive, I hate that intersection.
