I'll be there!

Show me the way Danny! Already paid my series fee. Just need to figure out the class I belong in and pay. Guess I can do that the morning of, huh?

What time should racers arrive?

It'll be my privilege. What day are you racing? Sat or Sunday? 1 hour or two hour?

If you're racing Saturday 1 hour or 2 hour races open practice begins at 10:30. The adult 1 hour and 2 hour races start at 11:45. There is a riders mtg both days early in the morning (8 am), but if you aren't riding until practice I wouldn't advise showing up super early for that mtg unless you want to. Otis usualloy gives a brief mtg to give you info about the course, etc. a few minutes before open practice or you can ask him if there are any specifics you should know about the course before heading out for a "parade/practice lap". The same goes for Sundays races....8 am riders mtg, 45 minute races (kids/ladies classes), 1 hour of open practice and then races begin at 11:45. (all of this is explained on the flier I posted previously)

I know you say you're super slow in the dirt, but I'm betting your first race will be pretty decent based on your experience (and previous race butterflies, etc). If you are unsure, start in D. You will learn a lot in race #1. How much work riding the dirt actually is, how pushing it at 85% for an hour will wear you out, etc. If you are unsure, start at the bottom (D) and work your way up to C, then B, A, and then the pro class (where I fully expect you to be by the end of event #3 ). I'm confident B class is where I'll be for some time....if not C. Personally, I think you should line up with the former CMRA guys in Over 30B. J/K! You can figure all of this out the morning of. Glad to see you coming out.

I'll be there by 8 or 9 on Saturday (to sweep Saturday races) and will be glad to show anyone the ropes. I can be found in a green Chevy half ton pick up and riding the bike in my avatar. Lots of folks out there willing to help the newbies.

Hope to see Flyin Duc joining us too!

Updated Link To Flyer: http://www.texasxtremeoffroadracing....w_Trax_Feb.pdf

Weather (according to weather.com) for 77358 is predicted to be near the 60s and possibly a few morning showers. It sounds glorious for racing!

I heard about this.....that's an additional hour and half up I-45. VERY GOOD chance I won't be making this one now. I just don't have it in me to get up that early on a Saturday morning for a 3 hour commute....and seeing that I'm not likely to be very competitive in my class anyhow, I'll skip the 6 hours of driving on my weekend. I hope EVERYONE that was planning on participating this weekend sees this update!

Let me chew on that thought overnight....I just got back to work from 2 days of jury duty last week and then a week in Chicago on vaca so my workload is slammed. The change of venue was kinda like the straw that broke the camels back in swaying my decision. I'll get back to ya tomorrow....thanks for the offer.

Shoot, didn't even need to sleep on it.

Have to show my FIL Goldwing to 2 folks Sat. morning.
(really would like my garage back, hope it sells)

Have a cd player that needs to go in my truck that I've been putting off for 3 weeks

My knee really shouldn't be put to the test just yet and I'm just afraid racing will push me beyond my phys. limits.

Also have a couple fence estimates to do.....

ok, out of excuses for now.

FWIW, it's to my understanding the venue has been changed to a new location due to possible weather concerns. Recent & Forecasted rain would be too much for the property and it simply wouldn't hold up to the beating us racers give it....
I'll be doing my best to make cedar Creek in a few weeks. You can obtain directions/location to the middleton property by visiting the flyer below.

I wish I could make it. I thought about driving up early in the AM and driving back after the race, but it got overruled. The Middleton property is super fun. The change was just way last minute for my household.

From the TON forums, it sounds like they will be swapping the dates, so Outlaw will be in April. I love Outlaw!

Not to mention racing home to catch a Super Bowl party.... Racing home from Huntsville was doable....Centerville, not so much.

Unless it gets really ugly I'll be doing Sat. open C only. No rush back for the Super Bowl that way. Otis just posted on TON that as of now things are great there.
