Here is an update guys:

I did not forget about this thread, I had a few unexpected expenses that came up, the account is open but $1 is in there now. It was open at Smart Financial Credit Union and it's a completely free account. I will be depositing the rest ($24) to complete my promised contribution to the account. It will be next Thursday/Friday.

I have not yet set up the account for PayPal to attach, but will do it soon, might need someone's assistance and pointers (not too familiar with it)on how.

Thank you all for taking interest in this. This really will be a positive things for our community.

Hey guys, I have not forgotten about this and I hope you guys have not either.

I have the $25 in the account now, and I am about to set up the PayPal account(with the help of Helios)...

So it will soon be ready for you guys to donate to help me get noobs out to the track by sponsoring them.

Noobs, please sign up on the other thread to be considered in the sponsorship. I'll find the thread and will post link in a bit.

Here it is: http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=212121

Thank you all for reading.

It is great to want to return a favor someone gave you, but a couple comments just for thougt.

Having the cash to pay the entry fee should not be what is stopping the new rider from attending. If it is then they are getting in over their head financially attending a track day.

Second the biggest help I belive is with logistics on the larger one time cost items that a new person just would not buy until donig it once. Specififcly, trailler and gear. MH is amazing with the support given for rides to track days also a great opportnity for the new guy to ask some questions on the ride and have a buddy to remind them to bring their key and put gas in their bike.

For gear it is a bit more confusing for the new guy to figure out, as some places do discounted or free gear rental already, they would want to take advantage but I can'nt even keep up with this and who offers what anymore. So a quick summary of what is offered where would be helpful the new guy here.

What I have seen is people are much more willing to help and offer services than to give money and these services are valued at much more than you will get in donations to the firstimer. All that said if you still want to take care of the track day fee that is great but it won'nt be as sustainable as the suppot that this comunity offers for all the rest.

If you want to do more for the new rider you could drum up postings of availble slots and gear options ahead of a track day on the schedule. Many do this on their own but for the new guy it may be more intimidating to ask who may be a bit hesitant to blindly ask for help. So you could intitate it or let them know its out there somehow. The read ahead matierals on here and the support offerd already takes the edge off significantly.

My appologies if this has already been coverd, I did'nt read through all 5 pgs first...

I would suggest getting a few miles under your belt with your new bike before heading out to the track. You will learn a ton, but you want to be comfortable with your bike so you don't worry about anything other than the track.

Put the list of names in and it will randomize them, you could either choose the first 2 names as winners or remove the 1st name and do it again for the other winner.

Also you may not want to post screenshots of peoples names, just sayin.

Edit: You could livestream the drawing at a certain date/time every week so people can watch the results in real-time.
I could use some help

I guess I should not used the names...I'll keep them off next time..it's bad on phone and can't edit...just want to give the full view.
