Ivan, ask a mod to sticky another thread just for track noobs, and let them work for it, with things like, making threads useful for the community, so basically no threads started in Off Topic and The Circus count, links to instructional videos, or genuine questions about motorcycling in general, not just track, that kind of stuff.

Being a thorough noob, Ill say this is a great idea. But the concept of earning your right is even better. Something like a point system, i.e. if you make a meet or two, participate in a forest ride or just generally contribute positively to the community gains you points. When you have a certain amount, you are put into the pool for a track day. Its completely understandable that someone wouldn't want to give their hard-earned dineros to some random that has two posts and doesn't come out to any events on here. Ill even throw in a dollar or two just to help other noobs out. I am more interested in becoming a better rider overall, and I know the track is the only place where you can really learn and put these skills into practice. There are many knowledgeable people on this board, and if a few of them would be willing to give advice and tips, that alone would help us peasant noobs out.

I personally this year want to become more active then I was for the last year or so; both on the track and going to a meet at least once a month. I do more street riding but the lure of the track is to tempting. For me, its a matter of logistics - getting my bike to and from the track and also having someone knowledgeable to lend a hand if I inevitably something up(which is a guarantee). I have a free pass with Ridesmart from volunteering at a track day last year and want to use it for the next MSRH track day in march. Hopefully I can find someone that has a spare spot on a trailer to get me there but if I have to ride up there and back I will (even though that is a stupid idea).

I think to make this very simple it should be random like another member posted. Of course you'd need prerequisites.

1. M endorsement.
2.At least 100 posts or an account a few months old (to keep people from pretending to be noobs)
3.Maybe attend at least one group ride or parade lap.

This is a great idea, and a very generous one too. But there are some people that might try to take advantage of this, so to get on this list I say you need a good screening.

I can also donate.

This. I'd say make sure that at least a couple of the trustworthy regulars (Ivan, Renzo, etc.) can vouch for them as being real, deserving noobs.

I did this several years ago. It worked well enough, and we got several nobs out.

http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...ob+spomsorship

Because of the massive pain in the this is, I suggest having some of the veteran riders sponsor a noob by cornerworking for them

Wow Tim!

Thanks for sharing, just looking at the names on there I recognize Ajflo and Dean laden, to fast guys.

Just goes to show how this can make a huge difference, thanks for the suggestion, Tim.

Other options:
I'm with Leo on the helping part too. Maybe make it some kind of side org or group. Just some ideas:

1. Promote through a special MH Track Riders sponsored Tshirt...all proceeds to the fund.
2. Have a session once a month on how to track prep. Bike, how to get there, what to expect, what to bring, etc.
3. Buddy system? Track vet (not fast, just someone who's done a few) and a noob.
4. Raffle some prizes off ($5 or 10 a ticket)
Yeay.. we have talked about this before.... "Street Riders Safe House" TM- ... (don't go stealing the name..) It could help out with other things besides track too.. have to have legitimate rules and guidelines to qualify...

MH Frequent Rider Cards... (selected Seasoned riders can have the whole punch or initial the cards... could say MH on it) 5 punches enter you for a 50 off drawing... or something like that..

I just realized it might be difficult to get 2 signers on the account on the personal side, so it might just have to be me. Unless someone wants to volunteer, must be someone trustworthy.

As far as the debit card I was thinking of handing it over to either:

BYRDMAN or Dinosaur
I'll do it or help out if you all think I'm trust worthy enough.
